From my experience hanging out in west Africa, they’re quite proud of it too. It’s one of the first things they brought up to me.

That video has absolutely zero to do with slavery.
Also, are we sure he's supposed to be mocking anyone? Looks more like he made a video that he thought would be cool, but to everyone outside of him it just looks weird and cringy.

IDK the context of that video in particular, but I've heard for decades that actual Africans, educated and career driven, come to the USA to study or work and are appalled at the childish, low impulse control 'cousins' and routinely look down on them. The 'cultcha' isn't something that is shared on both sides of the Atlantic.
