Well one of my major clients is in Alabama and yes they have some of the higher county/city taxes in the country

If you were genuinely asking if that makes a difference, the answer is no. It does not. There is no region-wide corporate conspiracy to hire non-whites to the exclusion of white people.
Not what i was implying, not close.
I’m not one of these ‘baws’ on the OT who rails against ‘culcha’ and all that; i only asked if others had experienced what one poster mentioned in terms of diversity hiring being a big thing in Atlanta, since i’m a middle aged, straight white guy (aka not diverse in the least.) I am aware that we white guys have had it really, really good for a long, long time... I was just genuinely curious as to whether that might make it more difficult for me specific to Atlanta, and in comparison to Dallas- not a ‘region-wide conspiracy.’

It would probably help to have an Atlanta address
I agree with this.
Last year, while living in NOLA, i sent out a lot of resumes for positions based in Atlanta over a period of a couple of months... i got zero responses, even though i have tons of solid, verifiable experience for the jobs i was applying for.. Then my friend who lives in Atlanta suggested that i use her home address on my resume; lo and behold, the first day i changed to the ATL address, i sent out 6 resumes- and i got 3 phone calls almost immediately for the positions i applied for.. I ultimately accepted a job in NOLA (though i’m now looking at Atlanta again, and Dallas)- but in my anecdotal, small sample-size experience- having a local established address helps tremendously.

Hey, Vols. I’m in supply chain as well. Currently I am a planning manager over both supply and demand planners.
Do you mind sending me any recruiters you know of in the Atlanta area? I’m in the northeast now and really looking to get home closer to family in north GA.

Not to be a dick.
But, your a black Engineer.
I find it hard to believe companies aren't jumping at the chance to hire you.
You seem like a good guy.
But, you've gotta be doing something wrong in job search.

Don’t live in Atlanta. Live in Alpharetta, Roswell or Marietta. Most of Atlanta proper is ghetto.

This is a false narrative. Atlanta is not just the city, it is an entire area/metro. It stretches from the Alabama border in the west, to nearly Lake Oconee and Athens in the East, the foothills of the Smokies & Blue Ridge in the north, and down to nearly Macon and north central Georgia on the southern end. IOW, Atlanta is huge.
To answer your question, don't just limit hour search to the city, but the entire metro. Especially the Sandy Springs/Dunwoody area. (North metro). Also Smyrna/Vinings(NW Metro), that is where HD corporate is located.

Oh really? Explain how these areas listed below are all ghetto IYO. And they are all in the city limits except for Decatur(which borders the Atlanta city limits)

Virginia Highlands, Poncey-Highlands, Druid Hills, Midtown, Buckhead, Little 5 points, West-Midtown, even Decatur

This is my favorite part of town. I really miss those 1960s era Executive Park buildings, though. They were a nice counterpoint to all the new construction.

I worked in the basement of one of those buildings a decade or so ago. They were probably loaded w/asbestos.

I didn’t say all of Atlanta was ghetto I said most.

There is a kernel of truth to that. You'd probably call it ghetto where I live (unincorporated DeKalb, south of Decatur). There's no shortage of black pedestrians. But it's also a safe area with extremely low taxes and really good 1950s-construction housing stock.
Coming from Louisiana, you have to adjust your mindset. Back home, it seems like about 50% of black people you run into are those loud, "on-the-grind" types. That number is still way too high here, but it's not 50%. It's not enough to get me into some slab house way up GA400. I could have stayed in Mandeville for that experience.

That's not remotely true
