This. Its the old saying that the many ruin it for the few that do actually need it. The program was started after Great Depression for those in actual need.
Majority of today's users have used it as a way to game the government to pay for their poor choices.
Todays system need MAJOR reform.

Yeah I think there needs to be serious reform with the program but in this case it's going to be children who suffer the most.

So….yall are okay with children going hungry if you think their parents didn’t work hard enough for it?
I mean, if I had a worst enemy with hungry children I’d feed them. Because they’re innocent children.

I volunteer at a food bank once a week. Every once in a while we see someone who looks like a freeloader but almost everybody is elderly, disabled or both.

All your expendable income goes to hungry children right? Your time as well? I bet you could sell your house and feed plenty of kids. It truly sucks children are affected, but the government is not their parents.

They could have chosen to buy food, but chose to get their weave tightened, etc. Money is a fungible good. All WIC, SNAP, and the other 20 some odd food programs do is free up people to spend their dollars on non essentials.
Besides, they can always hit up a food bank, a church, the day old bread store, etc. But none of those are likely to give them Hot Cheetos and soda.

These two; food stamps should be like wic. Fruit, veggies, starch, dairy and protein (limited to fish & poultry). End of discussion
If you are going to have these benefits they should be assistance and not handouts. Prove you are actually low income, require drug tests, prove you are taking your kids to the dr and dentist as well as enrolled in school. If you cant do these things then bring back public works projects and start digging ditches.
