According to the report by LDH, 99% of the residents of one BR nursing home have Covid

I saw this on the news tonight but they didn’t say how bad it was just that one nursing home was having “trouble”. Well, according to the report— Old Jefferson Community Care Center has 82 out of 83 residents testing positive for the Covid. Also, 21 have already died and 21 staff member have it as well.
What the hell is going on over there? It’s a nice place and relatively new. Whatever the deal is over there, they couldn’t be doing any worse then if they were in a big room playing spin the bottle all day with each other.

That's pretty sad. How they ever let it get like that is ridiculous.
I just lost my grandmother in early February after she battled dementia for years. It was extremely sad losing her, but towards the end she just didn't want to be here any more like she was and she just gave up eating and drinking water and it was very sad to witness. However, part of me is thankful that she passed before all of this. I couldn't imagine her passing during this and not being able to see her and her not have family around to comfort her during her last few days. I guess if there is one, that was a silver lining.

That's an incredible statistical anomaly. May be not impossible, but at the moment. I would question those numbers.

Governors in numerous states have ORDERED nursing homes to accept active COVID cases. Baton Rouge and Louisiana have a huge problem.

The longer people wear masks and prevent this from spreading amongst the healthy, the more frail will die.

The numbers are deceiving.
The first column is the current number of residents in the facility.
The second column is the number of residents that have been diagnosed with COVID-19 SINCE the pandemic began. Many of those residents have recovered and their symptoms have resolved. Some residents have also moved in since this all began and some have moved out.
So long answer short, there's not just one guy in the building currently who doesnt have COVID-19. They should find a better way to report the numbers to not mislead the public

While there is no evidence of a strong fecal-oral transmission, I wonder if nursing homes present the right set of extreme conditions to make it likely there? If one nurse slips up and goes from wiping 15 arses to handling food, that could be a problem.
Actual findings of the linked study: Virus is present and alive in feces, but since the 17 participants self-reported they had good hygiene, they ruled out fecal-oral in these cases.
