Does anyone known if nursing homes are not allowing residents to leave if they have tested positive or if their is an "outbreak" at the facility?
Are they allowing family to bring the person home, if they so choose?

And how nervous must that 83rd person be? I bet he/she is huddled in the corner with a can of lysol and a bucket of piss to throw at the first person through the door. If able, of course.

Get Fauchi on the phone ASAP, we need to know if this is anecdotal or if it is a double blind study that was peer reviewed. Also, that 83rd person may be the missing link to the cure!

They cannot stop you for removing your family member from the home, however they are giving up their room & as we were told “will not be allowed to go back”
Typically the staff will be the ones who packs up belongings so there is a very good possibility the resident will not get all of their belongings back

You really are mentally handicapped aren’t you? This thing is a fricking case of the sniffles for close to 90% of the people that contract it, a bad flu for another 8%, hospitalization serious for 1.5%, and fatal for 0.5%.
The hoax is that this thing was the second coming of the black plague and we needed to shut the entire service and 2/3 of the medical sector down. But congratulations, you did it and now we have 35,000,000 people out of work and tanked our economy. Great job

I’m in a different region and not at a skilled facility but I can tell you if/when we get a positive case, we are to make every effort to transfer that person elsewhere. Therefore, it’s rather easy to manipulate the data to reflect your resident isn’t your resident in the event of their demise, a sad realization personally. The problem is everyone is saying no to positive case admits. The one facility that has agreed to accept positives on case by case basis here had 8 deaths thus far as of yesterday. We have isolation unit plans as last resort precautionary measure. We are conducting mass testing June 1-2 in conjunction with LDH.
In regards to another poster’s comments on removing possessions, we are permitting two family members or professional movers maximum (after appropriately screened) to remove possessions, and state regulations require facilities to offer inventory process upon admit. The implication that possessions are taken is careless when you’re offered every opportunity to avoid the possibility but are too lazy to complete it.

I still say it’s stupid as shite to send them to the hospital for a swab and then send them back to wait for results.
All of our residents were tested in facility and only sent out if resident became unstable, staff couldn’t handle it (or dementia patient who kept eating his nasal canula) or if the family requested it.
We had an employee on the vent — older than 60, overweight, other conditions, female who is now gone and recovering but is still not great.
They’re also antibody testing all residents.

I was the one who commented
I can say that since the shut down 2 people have died across from my Grandpa
Both died during the night & both times the room was packed up early the following morning by staff
My Grandpa is able to walk & takes his walks up & down the hall so he watched them do it
We did have a family friend that had a relative that passed, they were able to be there with him so they were allowed to remove his belongings
There is a chance that because this was in the very beginning they weren’t letting anyone in or maybe the family was too worried to come in & get them but to claim family is lazy is pretty crappy
We have caught staff stealing food & drinks to the point that we were keeping inventory of all snacks brought in, as I’ve said many times if my Grandpa wasn’t 100% in his right mind & can tell us what’s going on we would have probably already pulled him out

Because no nursing home that I know of has come anywhere close to numbers like that where 99% of the residents are CO-VID positive. That is pretty odd given the averages.
