I give ZERO fricks about any of this as it truly has no affect on me...at all.

ok
so schools will have gender neutral bathrooms
so?
I just struggle to understand the thought process of the people that get angry or upset over this type of thing
I just don't care

Really is a where will the line be drawn situation. Essentially all we are doing now is validating and accepting people's sexual preferences and kinks. Why is the guy that likes to frick dogs any less right than a man that wants to cut his penis off and have multiple surgeries to become a "woman" and have sex with men?
It's sick to me that just because the media shoves all this down our throats and everyone is to afraid to step up an say it's not ok in fear of being bash and called out as a bigot, we have to not only accept, but champion these freakshows for whatever fricked up perversion or mental illness they are trying to pass off as natural.

the difference is consenting adults
this isn't hard
Transgender celebration is part of a cultural shift towards individualism. Individual rights become more important than societal or moral standards.

Jenner is not a transgender. He is a dude who likes to play dress up and call himself caitlyn. A mentally ill transvestite.
Dude is a drag queen. He is not intent on sex reassignment surgery, so he intends to keep his package. so that makes him no different than Rue Paul in my mind, except Rue Paul has talent and has made a career of being a drag queen.

It's logical conclusion is simple. People will do what they do, other people will begin to consider it old news, and then finally no one will give a frick one way or the other. Exactly how it should be. Nobody's personal discomforts should dictate anyone else's lifestyles.

as of right now, its 18 year old, right? I get that it is an arbitrary number/age, but everyone has a line

I don't really have an issue with this

I wouldn't expect you to, at least not now. Europe is farther along this continuum than the US, it's interesting to watch the repercussions.

I'd have to know more about the 12 year olds case before I could really comment further about that

A German government thought it was cool to exterminate as many Jews as possible... luckily it didn't catch on this year.

I don't care if Jenner, or anyone else for that matter, changes their sexual identity. I don't agree with it and I'd rather not see people celebrate like ESPN is doing, but it's not a big deal to me. Live and let live.
What gets me is the absolute intolerance by those who support him. Its straight up policing of thought and is really disturbing. A simple disagreement is met by calls of being a "bigot" and people are publicly shamed for having a different opinion. This comes from the same group that preaches "tolerance."

This is not a smart OP. Children can't legally consent and there is evidence (accepted as fact) that molesting them inflicts injury. This shite could not be more different from transgenderism in the most significant ways. Shame on you.

I couldn't care less what Bruce Jenner does. I just don't like the media's agenda to shove this down everyone's throats as "normal".

What do you tell your kids?
First, they have not asked. Neither my 12 year old or 8 year old have asked about this topic. It has literally not come up. Since I have not been all bent out of shape about it, they've not heard me ranting about it and asked me what I'm bitching about, and they have not seen it on TV...or if they have it has not made enough of a dent to even warrant asking me, and they ask me a TON of shite nonstop.
In fact, the only IRL discussion I've had at all about this particular topic was last night when I jokingly told my wife that people on this board had completely lost their fricking minds about this topic. Then I went back to talking about shite that matters to my daily life...
All that being said, if they'd ask about it I'd tell them something along the line of, "Well guys...there are lots of different kinds of people in the world. You know how we've talked about how most people are attracted to the opposite sex...but some are attracted to the same sex? Well, even rarer are times when some people never really feel like they are the right sex. Like they are born a boy, but always felt more like the way a girl feels. I never felt that way, and I'm glad because that seems incredibly tough. This man says he felt that way, so he, I guess, is having a surgery to make him more like a woman because he thinks it'll make him happier."
The specifics of what the surgery would constitute would be more/less graphic for each kid...but it would/will go something like that.
Or is the suggestion that Bruce Jenner can't live his life because at some point I'll have to explain his lifestyle to my kids...and therefore he needs to not behave a certain way? Why should my lack of ability or interest in explaining things to my kids take precedent over Jenner's freedom to live his life?

What's there to disagree with...I'm asking sicerely.
This is probably going to blow your mind, but not everyone thinks alike. Some people aren't going to naturally accept that Jenner is really a woman.

Where do I come into play when it comes to Bruce Jenner's nutsack? Do I have a vote or something?

What's always concerned me is this fight over labels, over definition. I think those things are important, culturally and conceptually.
So many of the "special interest groups," especially as it pertains to sexuality have fought for so long to not be labeled. But now they want them. This becomes especially exaggerated in this Jenner case, to be a woman, or a trans woman, or whatever.
To all those who say live and let live, the problem is that those things, those ideas, will be forced on your kids, regardless of what you intend to do. People have to interact with culture (basically). The struggle for a "label," ends up being the struggle for a legal definition with legal rights and then it's all downhill from there. Will we be required to have 6 different bathrooms everywhere? Will culture stop using boy and girl to refer to general assumptions about kids? Will we have to be mindful of how we look at everyone to make sure we address them correctly for fear of being ridiculed, and having to decipher 20 different denominations of sexuality or "gendered-ness?"
Live and Let Live is also a one way street for most. We're supposed to let Jenner live as he wants, but as soon as you refer to him as a man, you're wrong. What if in one person's world, people are a man and woman, and that's it? There might be men who like to think they are women, but they are still women. Can they live with that belief without repercussions?
Regardless of whether or not we agree or disagree with the shift in culture (and it is one), but to say this is automatically a "good thing," is being shortsighted. To say this is a "live and let live," thing is misguided, recent news and reactions certainly counteract that point.
We should be far more mindful as a culture to how we think about ourselves, our future and kids, and the things we decide to normalize, but we're letting a dominant media narrative control the argument, push world views at will. Without regard for anything. Every response in this situation is valid and meaningful, but we need far more time to sort out what it all means.
I don't think people are getting jimmie's rustled over Jenner, they're looking at the last 5-10 years and Jenner is kind of the new focal point for any perceived changes in culture. That's all.

It's not about thinking alike, it's about where you come in regarding his decision. I mean...I guess if you meet him it will be your decision to address his as Cailyn or Bruce, but unless you do...why do you need to agree or disagree with what a dude in California dresses like? There's a metric shite ton of things people do that I don't agree with, but unless and until they involve me personally some way, I don't see where I need to involve myself in their crap.
I find wearing crimson and hollering Roll Tide to be abhorrent behavior...but until you force me to do it, I'm going to go ahead and respect your right to. Hell...I have more trouble explaining THAT to my kids than Bruce Jenner is a dress...

Exactly and well said. If we're all about respecting an individual's thought or beliefs, then we have to accept those that disagree with those as well.

There absolutely is one and the troubling thing is that in this pursuit of universal acceptance and tolerance, any kind of dissent is shot down. So the shift is going to happen because those who disagree would rather not have to deal with the hassle.

I just do not think we are going to have to worry about this as much as people think
we hear the vocal minority on these things, but they are still, and will be in the future, a very small percentage of people
I could be wrong though

So what is next?
You will one day learn just how backwards and foolish you are for not accepting the New Normal of Transgenderism.
What is next? Everything you mention might be next. After all, the objective of the International Left is to smash the foundations of capitalist USA by any means necessary. One way to do that is to disrupt, dislocate and destabilize the US society of ordered liberty.
Caitlyn Jenner is now positioned to earn many more millions of dollars than was Bruce Jenner. Bruce was a forgotten and weird old man. Not much earning potential there.
Caitlyn, on the other hand, is today's hottest celebrity with great earning potential. Reality TV show on the way, for sure, and more.
Jenner's never been a regular working middle class person. He's always made a living being a celebrity. By becoming Caitlyn, he's simply maximized his earning potential.
You are out of step, Napoleon. You say that you "lean Left" but your own Left will condemn you for being a Hater.
What's next for you? Constitutional Conservatism?
