re: DJ Lagway to Baylor
Posted by TJRibMe on 1/8/26 at 12:21 pm to BayouCowboy
The strange thing about Aranda is that his defenses at Baylor have been a mess. Linebacker play, in particular, has been pretty bad.
Sawyer Robertson was a solid QB and they've had good tools at RB, WR and TE.
Dave can't quite get the defensive personnel or scheme to do a bit better in the big 12.

Well, you did tell me so
That’s a lot of QB’s
No chance. Baylor defense is atrocious. No discipline in run lanes or assignments.
I don’t know if he’s over his head as the CEO or he’s just lost the mojo, but his defenses the last few years have been horrific

Baylor has found themselves as the season has progressed. They played BYU and Colorado close. Their initial QB, DeQuan Finn, was benched via a combination of injury and not great performance. Sawyer Robertson has emerged as an impressive option at QB with a very solid QBR (5th in the nation). Their offense is now balanced and Jake Spavital is their OC who likes to play tempo. Jake was in the air raid coaching tree, but diverges a bit in that he also desires a good options at running back.
They have good WR's and I especially like Josh Cameron, who is physical and solid at returning punts.
Bryson Washington (freshman) has emerged as their go to RB and he is absolutely capable.
I think their weakness is in the secondary and Nuss could do well with the layoff and time with wideouts (though it remains to see who will fill out the LSU WR corp for the bowl game).
The strength of their D is the linebacking corp. They're good, but not great.
IMO, Nuss has the potential to have a really good game against this D. The big question is who plays for LSU and who doesnt. Baylor shouldn't have many holdouts.

Dimitiri, step away for the next week or so. Make a cocktail, watch some Netflix and take a break.

hat is being made off of religion
Plenty of people ridicule religion in general. Plenty of religious people ridicule the Joel Osteen's and Jimmy Swaggart's of the world.
Money collected by "religion" can be used for worthwhile purposes - there are a ton of religious charities doing great work. There are also the mega pastors trying to justify a new jet. Up to rational people to sort the wheat from the chaff.

I have a good friend from college that is knee deep in this mess. He outkicked his coverage and his wife spends quite a bit of time in the gym and eats right. She is also a bit bi-curious.
They screen candidates via twitter and have some type of inner circle that swing. For the most part, the wives are bi and I guess the dudes watch or film. There are more rules to this than I care to know or explore.
While it sounds great to watch girl or girl action, I can tell there is a part of my buddy that knows he has gone down a dangerous road. I know that he has participated with other women, I suspect she has participated with other men. Not my cup of tea and I have no idea how this ends well at the end of the day.

That was a bit much to process. Anyway, here are some spoilers and an explanation of the ending and of the movie:
Warning: Spoilers

Park Hyatt definitely has the best location as it is central to the BC village. Slopes out the backside and skating rink out the front.
I prefer the Osprey or the Pines Lodge. The Osprey has a lift just outside (true ski in/ski out) and has a nice ski valet. The Pines is also ski in/ski out, just not quite as close as the Osprey.
I have no experience with Arrowhead, I'm sure there are more affordable options over there, you're just not going to be able to walk to BC Village.

Eh, it's 100% private money. The land negotiations between Hou and Dallas are still to be negotiated and will be a bear, regardless of population density. While it may be a bit quicker to board than traditional airline travel, it will still not be as a fast as a flight. The price point was pretty much on par with an airline ticket. Both Houston and Dallas have two airports, it's not like getting to the airport is terribly difficult.
The biggest challenge will be securing the necessary funds and then securing the necessary land.
