So, a religious person fear mongering. How original.

Fear is a great motivator.

Let’s say all that stuff isn’t real and I believe in it and you don’t. I still live a life with meaning where I believe in a higher power that gives me comfort through struggles and implores me to be a better person. If I’m wrong, I still live a satisfying life, die lie you do and it’s over. If you’re wrong, well… that’s a whole different ballgame, isn’t it?

So you belief is based on a just in case it’s real, lol.

Acktually....

Hell entire purpose is the absence of God. The only place where God's presence does not exist.

As a Catholic you’re taught that God forgives all. You’re all children of God. Jesus died for your living sins. But they teach you about Hell, purgatory, God judging you upon death.

It’s all contradicting. As I got older, and could think for myself, I started to realize if you believe the first part, you would not need the church. So how does the church make you believe you need them? Throw in the second part. You need them, and you need to give them your money. Otherwise you’re going to a place that God created to punish you for eternity.

So it’s either God created hell, does not forgive all, you’re not his child, and he will burn you alive if you mess up on earth..and wait for it….a earth and temptations God created.

Religion is weird. I’ve come to the conclusion to just live your life, try your best to be a good person, don’t sweat the small mistakes, and then go off to dreamland when you die, or maybe whatever you believe in.

This story is about brain activity, and apparently homeboy had his own demons, much like a dream/nightmare, that was his thoughts, until the brain dies completely.

So you should do what makes you happy. If life’s only point is happiness, then whatever makes you happy should be your goal. If that’s child rape, murder, etc.

If no God, then no point to life except be happy and die.

No point in inspiring others by being positive either, because their lives are also pointless.

We are just here to experience whatever experience we decide we want to experience.

I guess survival would be the goal of life then, since our lives are equal to animals now. So, do what you have to do to survive. If that’s drugs so you don’t get depressed, or murder to feed your urges, or stealing because your a kleptomaniac and that’s what gives you a rush.

Should be pointed out that, unless im mistaken, catholicism really doesn't spend too much time on individual judgement and there is a disagreement on whether or not God himself punishes the individual or if the individual punishes themselves

Why be a good person? Unless that genuinely makes you happy.

What about bad people who do bad things because that makes them happy? Why should we punish them?

So people who don’t believe in a higher power, live a life with no meaning? What if I’m able to get through struggles, and able to find comfort, and to become a better person, without relying on God? I’ve never understood this argument from people.

I have also never understood the “You don’t know the difference between right and wrong if you don’t believe in God” argument.

Yes, but it’s funny to me because in order for that argument, you have to agree that people born with those urges to do bad things are just fricked.

If there’s god then obviously those things are bad, but even if there isn’t a god, society has decided that those things are bad. So either way, we have decided that those people are fricked.

So, if there’s no god, there’s really no meaning to our lives other than survive and enjoy it. So those people shouldn’t be considered bad since that’s how they survive and enjoy it.

I spent 12 years being taught one religion. My brain was filled like a jelly donut. Catholicism was the only religion. That’s judging anyone who doesn’t follow it.

My point was as an adult I’ve taken the time to learn about other religions as well. They all have positive points if you want to be a good person while on earth. None are the right or wrong religion. Believe what you want, live your life, be a good person for society, so we can get along. When you die you die. If you believe there’s a dreamland, where you get everything you want, but it’s only after you’re dead, no hate over here.

The human mind/spirit is a powerful entity.
We create dreams every night that often defy explanation yet they represent a confluence of experiences and suggestions.
One theory about existence after death is that energy cannot be created or destroyed and simply takes on different forms.
As such it might be possible that we create our own life after death spirit world through what we believe it to be.
Happy thoughts might in order at passing.
