Obviously his mom told him the truth and it probably shattered her marriage. At least get some details and bring them back to share.

I was with you until this. This makes you a piece of shite.

Someone contacted me online a few days ago saying he wants to ask me some questions. I didn't know who it was, so I checked his profile and it's him. I've got 7 kids now and really don't have a desire to find out I have an 8th man-child from a past life. Seems like no one benefits from the revelation that his father wasn't his father if that turned out to be the case

If you've got 7, what's 8?

Give the kid some closure you might do him some good

This sounds like a low budget hallmark movie for Christmas. I’d watch it after a few bourbons and some Christmas snacks

I pray that if my son is ever ill his birth parents won’t be so selfish as to not respond and provide medical background info.

I just don't see any downside to this, unless OP's wife would lose her mind, and even then, I think there is, at minimum, a moral obligation to find out whether or not you have another child.

I was contacted on Ancestry by an adopted cousin...my Uncle on my mother's side.

I was able to get her in to contact with her birth mom a few years ago and just recently she and her husband went on trip with her birth mother. Her adoptive parents are wonderful people.

Come on...take a chance.

I also found out I have an older brother my Father never knew about.

Imagine finding out at 55 years old your biological Dad was GARY PLAUCHE! He probably liked a meme not knowing.

Why avoid this? If you have any chance of this person being yours wouldn’t you want to know? More importantly why wouldn’t they?

I doubt after 30 years he is coming to roast marshmallows and sing kumbaya but he deserves to know his dad. If you are his dad why try to avoid it? If you aren’t prove it to this person curious about it. Help them don’t skip out on it.

He was raised by someone else and they had a father/son relationship. Why upset that?
Seems like he already knows that the guy who raised him isn’t his biological father. Why else would he have reached out to you in the first place?

Have you ever done one of those Ancestry / 23 And Me genetic tests before? I know someone who found out he had a kid he never knew about after they had both done those tests.

Otherwise, his mom probably came clean and told the kid that you were spraying them guts 9 months before he was born.
