Would you mind connecting the dots for a dumbass like me. Once you explain where all the communism is hiding please give an example of a state this couldn't happen in.

Did a google search & found a interview with the lawyer representing “Executive Roof Services”.

He denied it was a SLAPP situation. Good luck with that argument buddy.

I searched Google Mapps for Executive Roof Services in Vancouver, Washington and was able to find the review. It was a one star but actually wasn’t too attacking. The kind you might read and think throat they just got personal with a rogue employee. Can’t believe they are suing the family over this. What jerks.

Others people reading reviews should know that Executive Roof Services in Vancouver, Washington is harassing this family.

Truth is an absolute defense. If they gave their honest opinions on the reviews then ...

Did the review imply that they were customers and the company was rude to customers or potential customers?
Did the review make it sufficiently clear that the company was being rude to outsiders trying to pry into the private information of their customers?

If they didn't tell the whole story then the review was misleading, since a 1-star review naturally indicates a customer or prospective customer that had an unsatisfactory experience.

If the couple left a misleading review with the intent to harm the business's reputation, that is defamation and the couple needs a lawyer.

Doesn’t the defendant have to prove damages?

Person I know was put on a "do not serve" list for leaving a very legitimate one star review at a local food establishment.

If it was very legitimate why would they go back?

They weren't planning on going back, but that isn't the point.

Assuming these are the 2 reviews:

quote:

So we tried to call to get information on an estimate we requested and were told we couldn't get that information. We requested to speak with a manager and the woman (who's name I think she said was michelle the first time but refused to give me her name again) literally LAUGHED and said "I'm the office manager" so we said we need to handle this the right way or we would call better business to file a complaint. We'll she hung up and then CALLED BACK leaving a threatening voicemail!!!! Are you kidding? So unprofessional! I called advanced roofing and he responded promptly and in a timely manner and we are using his services now. I do NOT recommend executive roof services AT ALL!

quote:

The receptionist is so incredibly sideways rude its disgusting. I asked her for information on a repair and she acted like I was inconveneiencing her entire day. I asked her if i needed to contact my attorney to get the information from them and she claimed I was verbally abusing her and hung up on me. Needless to say I am already in contact with my attorney. Absolutely poor business. I would never recommend them.

It is the legal costs of getting there that is stressing them out.

Then you countersue and have the plaintiff pay for the defendant's legal costs and that should put a stop to that shite.

Who pays the legal fees in the meantime?

KEYword: LANDLORD

Landlord's are responsible for repairs to roofs, not renters.

Assuming facts were as presented, as the owner said he’d spend 100k to sue them, do they have basis for a countersuit.

If there is a record of him saying that, such as in print, I think it falls into SLAPP.

All of this over a rude receptionist? All of this would have been avoided if the receptionist would have just said "I can't share that information with you since the contract is between us and the landlord". She doesn't even have to be over the top nice to the lady, just say it as a matter of fact and move on. Tell her to contact her landlord for job information and move on. No one star reviews, and no lawsuit. But the receptionist took a different approach.

I'm putting 1 star on this because I feel like it.

These people, that apparently rent, threatened to contact “their attorney” because the receptionist was rude. Appears they used fake names on the reviews and now they have a $100,000 Go Fund Me request up that is gaining steam. I don’t have sympathy for them.
