Being dumb is not the same thing as being ill-informed, especially for a kid. Thinking otherwise is just silly.

Was that dad running from his kid? What a dick. They had just posted on FB most likely saying how cool they are cause they went close to it. BOOM Bison

I have a daughter that is like your two...scared of everything that moves. Her younger sister? Completely fearless. She might have tried to ride the bison like a pony.

Same parents...I guess we raised one of them to be stupid just ‘cause.

Yep. I have 4 and they are different as night and day.

The 10 and 14 yr old are retarded fricks would try and pull its tail
The 12 yr old won't get out the car if that thing is nearby
The 16 yr old will stand just behind the retarded two and snapchat a video of them getting killed and then share it with her friends.

You realize you helped my point right? I said that just because she is 9 doesn't excuse her, and you said parents can raise her right that doesn't mean she will turn out smart...

I wasn't saying my kids were smarter then this 9 year old, I was saying that 9 is old enough to know better then to get close to a Bison in the wild.

Someone can be fearless and smart and someone can be fearless and dumb.

ETA: Not to mention, 9 year olds can read and as said there are signs everywhere telling you to stay away from the wild animals.

I'm all for adults being on the end of that reminder every once in a while, but this girl didn't know any better. She's a victim of her parents' stupidity.

Agreed. But knowing that the little girl was okay, I laughed

National Parks have become largely unbearable. I know my way around Glacier well enough to take my friends and family and avoid shitshows. But the average great unwashed and idiotic tourists have ruined a lot of these places otherwise.

I actually saw an entire family grilling on a tiny narrow shoulder on Going To The Sun Road last year. And the animal interactions make me ill.

This is why we can't have nice things.

I’ve been to Yellowstone twice and both times I noticed that Asian people treat bison like they’re cows at a petting zoo. A girl was gored the week before we got there last time.

We went to Yellowstone in 2007. I can't imagine how trashy it is now. Humanity became a cesspool of trash in the 2010s.

We'll be there next week. Looking forward to seeing the animals but we aren't that stupid and know to keep our distance. I think I read where some woman tried to pet a bear cub in Smoky Mtn National Park a week or so ago. People are idiots. And, what kind of dad runs leaving his daughter behind like that?

this is the crux.

Its not "wild" to people who can drive to it. It has the word park.

It appears that more signage is required.
Rules, not guidelines.

Good grief that is not what I said.

You, on the other hand, literally said that a kid of any age should be aware that Bison are dangerous. That’s ridiculous. If you’ve never seen or heard of a Bison, how would you even know to be afraid of it? It has nothing to do with “being smart”.

Not knowing that a Bison is dangerous doesn’t make you “dumb”. That makes you uninformed. There are literally thousands of things in the world that are dangerous to humans and no one is aware of them all, so by your logic, everyone is “dumb”.

Wish the photographer had run the camera a few seconds longer. Looked like the little girl was going to land on her feet like a cat. That's a vacation no one there will forget.

The year I went up to Denali, a bear killed a man at the dumpster outside the main building of the lodge/hotel/train cars, the night before we got there. We had a little cabin for one night. My mom almost talked my brother into driving back to Anchorage, but we stayed, took our trash to the dumpster the next morning, parked right next to it, ran to throw it in, and jumped back in the car. This was back in the 80's so there's no video of it.
