The Backpacker. That place with the indoor skiing. For parties they would give everyone sledding disks.

Seem to recall going to some place called Kart Ranch in Broussard.

There was also a place called "Ride-a-Slide" going up 49 towards Opelousas.

If anyone has any pics of the old place, would love to see some.

Gen X sounds a hella better than Millennial.

Baby Boomers

1980-1964= 16 yrs old. A little late for birthday parties at Chuck E Cheese

80’s kids = Gen X

My (soon to be) 6 year old's birthday is coming up in a month. When discussing her party I told her that we used to have birthday parties at McDonald's all the time. She looked at me as if I was the dumbest person on the planet.

Today, because of social media and the never ending need for mom's to keep up and/or out-do the Jones's, all of these birthday parties either need an elaborate "theme" or a lifestyle of luxury for preschoolers. My kindergartner recently got invited to a "spa day" party, followed by dinner at a (relatively) nice restaurant. Kindergarten! When you added up the spa, dinner and gift it added up to roughly $100 to attend someone else's birthday party. WTF!

Yeah that's a no for me dawg. Not that I wouldn't spoil one of my daughters like that on on her birthday, but expecting someone else to fork out that money just so their kid could hang out with my kid for a day is just super trashy.
