75-80% of all divorces are initiated by women.

Piling on to the women hating theme of the day.
Women with HS level education or less initiate the divorce about 60% of the time.
Women with some college or an associates degree initiate the divorce about 70% of the time.
Women with a Bachelor or higher level education initiate the divorce an astounding 90% of the time.
Just something to chew on and ponder.
ETA: all of those stats come from ChatGPT. I’m sure it would give me links if I asked but that’s a lot more work than I’m willing to put in.

If I beat the shite out of my wife and she files for divorce, she "initiated" it.

It's very likely an increasing issue (women opting out of marriage with the deck in their favor).
But it's silly to pretend like there aren't very often good reasons for this, too. Most of the divorces in my friend groups are women filing for pretty understandable reasons. Now, I think black and white stories often aren't as black and white as say...my wife would be led to believe, but nonetheless, some things are pretty clear cut (long term affair, substance abuse, etc.).
And I regularly bag on modern female culture all the time here.
But it's silly to pretend like there aren't very often good reasons for this, too. Most of the divorces in my friend groups are women filing for pretty understandable reasons.
