Remind me again which country has completely gotten rid of COVID.
It’s a virus; it ain’t going anywhere

I know two that were hospitalized. One passed. Both of the hospitalized patients were elderly with severe respiratory issues before Covid hit.
Oddly enough, the one that I thought was more fragile is recovering well.

Just give it about another month and it will all start getting better.....no matter what happens.

You can’t drive cases down to zero with masks alone, and unless you drive it to zero with a virus this contagious you will always “still be in this”.

it really is minor. the response is ridiculous in comparison to what the virus does.
I realize the Op was asking for anecdotal evidence, but anecdotal evidence doesn't change a 99.8+% recovery/survival rate.
and none of it justifies the insane responses our governments have had. tax dollar-incentivized case and death numbers, loading nursing homes with contagious symptomatic people, then politicizing KNOWN treatment methods, waiting until people 'need' a ventilator, and max pressuring them to death.
I simply refuse to be concerned about the virus, but I am concerned, as always, about the stupidity of large groups of frightened, propagandized people. the response is worse than the bug.
sry bout your ppl.

2 fat girls both over 300lbs and 1 probably pushing almost 400lbs both got it and they didn't even have symptoms
I thought it killed older fat people
after those girls at work said it was no big deal I didn't care anymore

7 months in and don't know a single person hospitalized

My wife no pics works in a 200 bed rural hospital. I hear stories about positives every day, some hospitalizations and even fewer on vents.
Personally I know of 2 that were really sick, one passed away yesterday and one that recovered but was hospitalized for probably a month. My son in law tested positive after being exposed, but never had a symptom and basically fished and drank beer for about 10 straight days while isolating.

I don't know of anyone who was hospitalized either

I know of one person who was hospitalized but he is overweight, smoked a lot of dope, and has had 3 heart attacks. He still survived though

and 3 deaths (one which was pretty shocking - early 30s)
What’s the story here? That’s statistically very unlikely

And you know of so many people that have been hospitalized that you lost count?
Several dozen I would say. It's not as if I write all the names down.

We had 3 people test positive at work about two months ago. They are the only people I know of that have had it. Two of them had no symptoms and the other one said he just felt really tired and only had flu-like symptoms for one day.

No doubt many have been very ill from it- but I do not know anyone personally who's been hospitalized, either.

My thoughts on this pandemic are basically this:
It’s real and targeted a specific group of unhealthy people. It sucks to lose anyone and I’m ok with certain measures like some social distancing and masks to try to keep the spread under control until we have a vaccine.
I’m not ok with ruining people’s lives and forcefully closing businesses, concerts, sports. We have to keep living our lives and conducting business even if it means taking a couple extra cautionary steps that are nothing more than an inconvenience.
The biggest problem is media and politicians seeking to instill fear, misinformation and panic rather than truth, calmness, and common sense. And the population takes it hook line and sinker, and also people these days can’t deal with any type of adversity, emotional loss of a loved one, or life in general. God help us if we end up one day in a major war like WW2 because I think we would lose. We cannot stomach it anymore. Our population would revolt and fracture the nation if the Govt ordered an invasion as deadly as D Day today.
