In a survey conducted by the Alabama Education Association, 65% of teachers in the state feel “uncomfortable” about schools reopening during the coronavirus pandemic.

The survey took responses from nearly 41,000 educators from across Alabama and asked them questions regarding the back-to-school plans made by districts and the state.

Some of the other key findings from the survey found that 62% of teachers think schools should start the school year with remote learning only, 63% are in favor of a mandatory mask ordinance for students and 36% have considered quitting or retiring early due to having to go back in the pandemic.

I wish they would have surveyed their opinion if not getting paid for not coming back to school.

The other 35% are tired of messing with the kids of their kinfolk during the shutdown and they want fresh meat.

A lot of teachers are lazy fat asses. It’s hard to put them all in one bucket though

Our private school teachers are probably around 90% wanting to teach in person. They miss the kids and miss their co-workers

The US is almost last in every global academic category and these teachers think they're in a position to negotiate?

Of course they are. They're generally the dullest knives in the drawer.

None of my friends are. We’ve decorated our classrooms and will be teaching 5 days a week. Can’t wait.

I guess this group doesn’t care to see that there have been ZERO transmissions from students to teachers worldwide . Not a single one.

But muh emotions over science and facts

If they don't go back to work, we get to stick a "Heroes don't live here" sign in their yard

It is not the Covid. It is the 6 months off. They had a lot of time to see how young these kids actually look. Many know that they will succumb to the peer pressure to bang these young looking students.

Little Darryl sure has gotten tall.

ETA: I see that 4 of you kid touchers were offended.

I don't blame them for their concern. Our schools have shut down for the flu before so we know this environment is a breeding ground for viruses.

Uncomfortable is probably a mild word.Scared shitless is probably more like it.

I bet they'll get comfortable real quick if they quit getting that check.
