This thread is going to turn into a shite show, but this is a big thing people, in general, need to learn. Something I've worked hard to get better at. Sometimes, just listen, let them know you're sorry this is happening (depending on the situation), and don't try to be the hero all the time.

And all we need from them is to not nag us and let us be the leader. Yet we spend all out time trying to check off their list, and they spend all their time trying to decide if we met their expectations well enough or could have done better.

Its also complete and utter bullshite, but I agree its #1.

Women just love to fricking bitch about how bad they think their life is when there are very easy fixes, but they simply don't care to do it.

Its why the majority of women make poor leaders.

Agreed. I’m a fixer. But I’ve learned when my wife complains about something I just need to say, “Wow, that (sucks/is great). Is there anything you need me to do about (that/this)?”

Nothing about:

Honesty
Hard work
Fidelity
Admiration
Stability

Only 1 part is needed to change the equation in an outcome.

If you want things to change, then YOU have to change. When things change inside you, things change around you.

Written by someone with ko balls or no experience with women, likely both.

In no particular order:

1). Protect and Provide
2). Make her laugh
3). Pay attention to her
4). Help with household chores
5). When I rhythmically slam that Big Kielbasa home till her legs quake.

These contradict, but since we're talking about women, they're correct.

Ex-wife was the uber-independent woman that no man could tell what to do, so I didn't. Then that made me the beta she didn't respect. Glad that ended. Learned the hard way you don't simp like that and expect to be respected.

I do it even with our kids. My immediate reaction is to try to fix it, but a lot of time it makes them feel they are doing something wrong, so add that one top of them being upset already.

My son was playing a video game this weekend and accidentally saved over his file where he had essentially finished everything. He didn't know his brother had played it earlier and was just at the beginning. He lost everything. But instead of "lecturing" him on being more careful when you save stuff, I just let him be upset and "that really stinks, buddy, I know you worked really hard at that game".

Seems silly and a 1st world problem, but I believe that helps him get over the disappointment a lot quicker.

I can’t fathom why you would want someone to listen and not try to help. The point in talking about something is to get help
