I normally feel like you are trolling the OT but that's pretty much accurate.

I read the shooter is down and officers on way to hospital, none dead ATM so that’s decent news. Could be much worse

Isn’t that area off 610 the Mexican hood?

Yes, not hard to guess these days. Texas is chock full.

But I did a property search on Harding St. and there were plenty of Ojedas, Garcias, Perezes, Trujillos and Maldonados.

How many times do any of you recall cops shot during the 1990s or even the early 2000s?

This is the work of the lefty media and SJW filth who earn livings selling the drama.

Literally more frequently than now.

Gun violence is actually down but you'd think that it has doubled in the past 30 years.

His question had me wondering and I found this data from someone compiling the FBI Uniform Crime Reports:

quote:

The rate of felonious killings per 100,000 officers has declined from about 18 in 1989 to about 5 in 2013. It was over 3 times safer to be a police officer in 2013 than 26 years ago.

Plus, no internet in those years and no 24 hour news cycles...you maybe heard 30 minutes of news in a day.

I believe homicides against police officers has also been trending down but when something like this happens it's obviously newsworthy.

Warrants have been horrible lately.

We've had multiple officers shot in Florence (SC), Odessa (TX), and now Houston. I'm sure I'm also forgetting a few.

Warrants and domestics are a cop's nightmare. Those are the calls where you get shot.

Prayers for these officers. Houston PD has had absolutely horrible luck over the last few years.

You can't actually be this stupid/ignorant...can you?

Now, this doesn't directly answer the question "how many police were shot in any given year", but it should give you some directional indication.

Seriously, how disconnected from reality do you have to be to believe that there were a lot less shootings of police in the 90s and/or early 2000s? And when you finally realize how stupid your question and following assertions are, will it cause you even ONE MOMENT of reconsideration of your ignorant stupidity?

SE Houston. Pretty much can stop reading at that point. SE side is a toilet until you get close to Clear Lake.
