I'd vote for Thomas Sowell for president tomorrow. I just happened to disagree with Obama on almost every policy. I don't give a shite what his race is.

Police officer deaths and police officer shootings are not the same statistics by a long shot.

Most departments didn’t start using ballistic vests until well into the 1990’s and some still don’t.

Also, there have been vast improvements in EMS care and ER gun shot trauma treatment over the past two decades.
Be that as it may, it beggars all belief to think that it was someone safer for police in the 90s.

Gun violence directed at officers is down? What empirical data do you have proving this? It’s astronomically higher, by orders of magnitude, since President Obama pretended to unite the country, but only provided the initial fuel for a race war or pretend justified war against cops.
Good god.

This literally sums up a liberal's response to everything

There are racists out there yes, there will always be idiots in this world, and that is never gonna change unfortunately. But that is not the reason most people didn't like him.

Sure seems to me that a lot of racist people don’t like having a white president

No. I think it has to with the fact he sucks. I am not some "liberal snowflake". There are several reasons why I don't think he is fit to be president, but as for as Obama, how many people do you know who didn't vote for him simply because he was black?

And before you say "how many people voted for him just because he was black?" I don't know, but most people who did were voting democrat anyway.

Name one thing Obama did to cause racial division?

Damnit have we figured out the race yet so I know if I respond with:

A) daddy too busy buying the whole travel ball team trophies instead of teaching personal responsibility

B) dindus, liberals, and some other racist shite

C) this is why we need to build the wall, liberals, and some more racist shite

D) cops should’ve thought twice

Come on, I need answers

Cops are targeted far more. Far more in 2019 than 1974.

This link contains a graph of US police killed criminally in the past 50 or so years. It's not even marginally debatable. The absolute numbers have plummeted - even as the population has increased by 50% or more.
quote:

There's a widespread perception in the American public, and particularly within law enforcement, that officers are more threatened, more endangered, more often assaulted, and more often killed than they have been historically," says Seth Stoughton, a law professor at the University of Southern Carolina and former policeman.

"I think it's a very strong perception. People truly believe it. But factually, looking at the numbers, it's not accurate," he says.

FBI data on police officers "feloniously killed" - killed as a result of a criminal act - indicates that the numbers have been falling, he says.

Looking at the 10 years from 2006 to 2015 the annual average number of police deaths was 49.6, Stoughton says, which he notes is "down significantly from the high".

quote:

"The high was the 10-year period prior to 1980, when we had an average of 115 - actually 114.8 officers feloniously killed… in the line of duty every year." At the same time the number of police officers has increased dramatically in the US.

quote:

At the same time the number of police officers has increased in the US. There are a quarter of a million more police officers working today than there were three decades ago. So when you consider the number of officers killed per 100,000, there has been a dramatic decrease. The annual per capita number of officers killed has dropped from 24 per 100,000 in the 10 years to 1980 to 7.3 per 100,000 in the 10 years to 2013 (the last year for which there is good data).

But I guess all that matters is you "feel" like it's worse.

Most reasonable thinking people will vote for someone they think can do the best job, no matter their race, this isn't what it's about. It's about crime not being as bad as it once was but go to hell ole miss brought up Obama and how he thinks he created racial division..

I'm truly amazed that anyone with half a brain can still be clinging to these absurd "feels" that crime is somehow worse than it used to be. These are the same people that start threads about how the darkest moment in this country's history was when women were given the right to vote. Yet they spew absolute nonsense based on literally nothing else than their emotional response to tragedies.

Would you relax? I am just being a contrarian. If you look at my post history I also made arguments that the moon landing is fake and the NFL is glorified wrestling. I don’t believe these things.

It is fun to get people like you riled up, though.

Can we please unleash the ED-209s into these shithole neighborhoods before they're completely irredeemable?

All you women in here need to unbunch your panties.

Big Scrub brought the facts and y'all up and vanished like a fart in the wind. And I don't even agree with big scrubs politics like 98% of the time.

Cops are not being targeted more now than in the past.

Violent crime is not higher than it was in the past.

No-knock warrants are a horrible idea pressed into use due7 the expediency and a win-at-all costs attitude.
