I do think it's a stupid law. States pass all these laws that try to make people go "whole hog" about living there. All your stupid little tags and passes and exemptions have to be there or you're a damned foreigner and you have to pay extra.

This artificially favors the sort of person who lives in a house trailer on Meemaw and Peepaw's land and looks at Texas like a scary foreign country. That sort of person may pay you a little car tax and a little income tax, but that's short-sighted. This is not the sort of mentality you want to subsidize.

In general, since the Civil War settled the sovereignty question, state governments have become drains on all of us. The people running it would be federal goons if they could, but they're not good enough, so they settle for being undergoons instead.

I do agree there are stupid laws, but the basics are needed/important. Learning about the sales tax on the car is pretty bad. But having people who reside somewhere is important for population info. Which goes for govt money allocation etc.

Read the audit report, they broke state law and violated LSU flex work policy. None of their agreements for the work situation was approved by HR. The work agreements where like 3 weeks at LSU 2 in Illinois. You cannot be an effective CTO working remotely especially given LSU sis project and needs. Illinois is much more of a banana republic than Louisiana. Does not pass the smell test.

In guessing these people bought a house to live in while here or a condo. They spent the vast majority of their time in Louisiana. They bought goods, clothing, food, etc...in Louisiana. They paid state income tax.

Why did all 4 choose not to change over car and drivers license? That speaks volumes

There needs to be an investigation into all the staff who make more than 100k. An efficiency expert needs to come in and ask some questions.

There are a lot of assistant vice presidents, associate vice presidents, directors, associate directors, etc., who don't do anything or know anything. Some of them can't even use any of the software programs that LSU relies on and laugh at their own incompetence.

When you are the laughingstock of your whole unit because even the people making $100k less than you are capable of more than you are, there's a huge problem. Blows my mind how these people can run off dozens upon dozens of good workers, leading to tons of time and money spent recruiting and training new staff.

Being present 40+ hours a week doesn't mean shite when you have no working knowledge of even the most basic operations. There are whole departments on that campus wondering how in the hell the person at the top of the unit got there. And there are lots of lower-paid people picking up the slack to keep the train from coming off the tracks.

Whoever he is, he's probably well overpaid for whatever value he actually brings to LSU. Way too many people who just busy themselves with useless meetings and talk loudly about how busy they are, while doing no tangible work and having no contribution. Michael Scott would fit in very well.

Unclassified position. Professional employee typically mean degreed non-faculty position.

It is a shame really good people got moved around by this Illinois crew.
