Delta towns here can’t hardly get any police. Can’t afford to pay for good cops and the ones they do get don’t do anything other than collect a check and write the report. Most sheriffs depts aren’t any better. They won’t even attempt to find stolen ATVs or trucks. Had a farm truck stolen not long ago they made no effort to find it. Eventually it turned up on a back road burned up
On a positive note, they won’t try to locate criminals who mysteriously go missing either….

These small, predominantly black towns in MS go all out for high school homecomings. At the one I attended last night as the visiting team, you could smell the weed as soon as you parked on the campus. Multiple DJ stages were set up. Between the alcohol and weed, I’m surprised it doesn’t happen more often.

It’s actually one of the better delta towns but has been in quick decline. It used to be more of a white suburb of Greenville with the Mississippi state agriculture research complex there and some old cotton money with beautiful homes along deer creek

Holy shite. We played in Cleavland and I drove right thru the middle of that shite about 10:30 last night heading home. There were cars and people all over the highway around the high school and I had to pick my way thru it. I legit almost grabbed my pistol from behind the seat because it was so sketchy looking, and I'm used to all sorts of culture. Crazy

Mississippi screwed up by not extending the Greenville Bypass around Leland and connecting it to US 61. Would let you avoid two shitholes instead of just one.
