A proposed bill winding its way through the state Legislature could make California the first state in the nation to reduce its workweek to four days for a large swath of workers.

The bill, AB 2932, would change the definition of a workweek from 40 hours to 32 hours for companies with more than 500 employees. A full workday would remain at eight hours, and employers would be required to provide overtime pay for employees working longer than four full days.

The bill was authored by Assembly Members Cristina Garcia (D-Bell Gardens) and Evan Low (D-San Jose).

At the federal level, a bill by Rep. Mark Takano (D-Riverside) is pushing for similar changes under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Quite a few school district in Texas are going to this. That will drive increasing flexibility in companies if they want to stay competitive for employees.

When they get hours cut to 32 hours, watch how pissed they'll be.

This quote is from the link in OP.

How many of these Americans quit because they refused the jab?

Nope. That would cause me to let go of 20% of my current employees. Politicians are just terrible business people.

Why in the hell do we need the government to concern themselves with how privately-owned businesses structure their workweek? We don't.

Short of mandatory 16 hour days 7 days a week or some crazy shite there is no need for regulation.

Who do they think is going to pay for this? The employers? Because they aren’t. Wages will decrease and/or prices will increase.

There are one or two folks in this thread who really, really want government to mandate every fricking aspect of their lives.

Agree. If you're worth time and a half you'd have that amount as your regular pay rate.
