Got out of an industry just months before it was completely decimated by COVID into my current career

LSU won the national championship, my students had a lot of success competing at the local, state, and national levels, caught a bunch of sacalait during the lockdown, bought a new truck, and I killed a pretty good 8 point back in January.

Wife and I got married.

Through all of this shite and the stress of planning that thing, we somehow were able to execute the entire wedding perfectly and not a single person got sick (over 50 guests and not a mask or social distancing in sight).

Add to madness, 1 week after the wedding the East Troublesome fire came storming into the wedding venue and they canceled everything and had mandatory evacuations.

I’ve only planned 1 wedding in my life, but I’d have to say this was the toughest year to do it in modern history.

I got to watch the Clemson Cheatahs get absolutely destroyed by the Louisiana State University Tigers of the Southeastern Conference in the last legitimate college football season probably forever.

We forced ourselves to save cash through the pandemic and now have a bigger pile for an emergency than we ever have. With that being said, both of us are still nervous about our jobs in the next year.

Not a single person I know became even remotely sick due to COVID, and the only people I know through second hand sources were living in assisted living on the verge of death anyway.

I got married and that was neat

Everything else can just burn. I’m currently watching America sign itself up for a pretty unpleasant future so that’s fun.

While it drove me crazy working from home with my kids in the house. Hindsight, it was pretty good spending the extra time with the kids for a few months. I got to know them better...
