My point remains, they built this car from scratch and still chose a V6 when a FPC beast of a V8 is in its arsenal.
Aren't these types of cars more for showing off engineering/design skills than anything? If so, I assume that's the reason they went with the EB.
Hell, I think Lexus lost money on every LFA sold.

My discontent with the Ecoboost V6 ( aside with reliability problems) is they cheaped out on a $500K halo car. Ford has better options at their disposal and they still went with a modded F150 engine.
I’m sure the engineers on the GTteam knew what they were doing. I don’t deny that getting the ecoboost name out there had something to do with it as well, but I’m sure the hotrodded ecoboost was the better overall option.
Like I said, doesn’t matter where the motor is from...as long as it performs. The infamous Viper V10 also began life as a lowly truck engine, and as I mentioned above the C8’s LS V8 is essentially a truck engine.

I can agree with that notion. Just most buyers buy cars of this price point have a major focus on image and mine is bigger than yours mentality. There is a reason top tier models of exotics have V10s, V12s, V12TT , V16TTs, etc.

And sounded like a UPS truck at low rpms.

I get where you are going and admit to having an inkling of the same feeling myself but it isn't like I was in the market nor would Ford have sold me one.
The one thing we can't argue is their secondary market value... Thanks John Cena.
I do love a flat-plane crank, which is responsible for the iconic Ferrari V8 sound. Of course the Ferrari V8s were what Ford benchmarked the Voodoo against.

Vipers have always been “crude”.

If they would've "hollowed out" the wall, they would've had a great passenger grab bar.
The F-Type has basically the same design, although no buttons on the top. Since it is not a solid wall, it looks much better.

I have been a Porsche guy all my life, from a ‘65 356SC to the 911 era. The Vette has, at least for the last two generations, been a lot of car for the buck. It outperforms many of the exotics priced three + times more.
The move to mid-engine may serve as notice of bigger things to come. IMSA ? Success on the track gains market share. Will be interesting to watch the next few years.
Definitely gonna be in line for a test drive or a few laps at NOLA Speedway when it becomes available (just a matter of time).

I'm not familiar at all with mid-engine cars. So if there is a small trunk in back for the golf clubs, is there any storage space in the front under the "hood"? At 60K, this is 20K less than the new 21' Skeeter bass boat.

Trunks in front and back. Can carry up to 5 luggage bags.

Yes it has a frunk, but frunks are typically pretty small. Like a small carry-on sized bag at most.

Never pay any attention to JD Powers, it is bought and sold propaganda. The best reliability data is from Consumer Union which is as independent as you can find. Also, don't put much emphasis on brand-wide data get data based on a specific model. Certainly, there is zero data on the C8 but consumer reports give the 2019 C7 a predicted 2 out of 5 for reliability. The 2018 was the worst of the C7 years.
Not trying to sway you away since sports cars generally don't sit at the top of reliability studies and just clearing up the JD Powers issue.

Are the Rennlisters acknowledging the C8 or are they still laser-focused on the 2020 911?

Appreciate that. I will be able to see at least a years worth of data on the new platform before buying since I won’t be in the game until 2021
