Yea I'm not feeling the button strip. But the tesla style fit everything into the infotainment system is horrible. Maybe it would make a little more sense in fully autonomous vehicles, but I fricking hate hunting around an infotainment system when I'm trying to drive.

Save it for radio/phone calling / navigation only.

Really like the exterior. Not so sure about that interior though.

Caving to the mid engine pressure

GM has been handcuffing/ the Corvette division for DECADES, this rear engine design is from the early 60s.

You are spot-on about the NSX, they were already discounting them, if the rumors I heard were correct.

Yeah this Corvette is the nail in that coffin.

For a few years, the C7 auto tranny was a ticking time bomb for quite a few owners.

Hopefully the C8 wont have too many problems.

At least the engine looks like its decently accessible.

Not a bad looking car, and I’m sure it performs well, but they’ve abandoned the Corvette look. It’s hard to call this car a Corvette.

But hey, something makes GM believe it will sell, so more power to them...

“Something”...like a mid engined, 495hp/470tq sports car that does 0-60 in under 3 seconds and can be had for less than $70k? Those specs might just be good enough to sell a few here and there.

They will sell every one they build.

Why did they make the deadens so similar to the Camaro? They should change that and it would very cool.

You remember when Mazda redesigned the RX-7?

Right car, wrong time type of deal.

Same for the NSX right now.

So how fricked is Toyota now with their Supra?

If I was considering a Supra, why on earth would I not just pay a few thousand more and get a legit ME NA V8 that looks like a real supercar and performs like one too?

The Supra looks like a compromise car next to this. It’s more in line with the previous generation Corvette.

I like it. If the quality and the performance numbers come through as stated, I think it will do well.
No doubt, this one is going to be looked and picked over closely and they know it.

This is the obvious reason GM is doing away with the Camaro.

Chevrolet has confirmed that they are not getting rid of the Camaro. They are delaying the next generation to 2023 - and they are focusing more on the sub-$40K editions of the current generation to sell to the masses.

That will give the Corvette more breathing room and help move more “every-man” versions of the Camaro.

The Camaro shares a chassis with some Cadillac sports sedans (CT4, CT5, ATS, etc.) and at least two future Cadillac crossover SUVs. That likely means that it can sell in lower numbers and still be viable.

One idiot after the next. The C8 interiors are miles better than any previous Corvette.

At least in the photos, it looks appropriate for a sports car under $75k (aluminum switches, real leather and suede, higher end infotainment).

I’m sure the three stooges on The Grand Tour will rail on it for not being as fancy as a $170,000 911 Turbo. But then they’ll drive it with a stupid grin on their faces and have to admit that the C8 is a game changer.

Then they’ll realize that this thing is going to make every remaining niche British sports car seem even more like the overpriced, slow, and shoddily built pieces of shite that they are.

Interesting to see if the powertrain warranty will still be 5yr/60K miles.
