That's bullshite. Houston is not safer than Austin. Not even close. And Laredo is a shithole with meth and cartels.

Missoula, MT is 63 (it's the no 330 metro area by pop), and I've literally never locked my door (house or car) there. There's some summertime vagrant car break-ins (not really break-ins because people don't lock their cars), and bike thefts. But anything else is a far outlier. Maybe drunken campus stuff.

Yes.
Denver is one point less dangerous than New Orleans, REALLY? And Fontana, Ca (104) is safer than Austin (149). What are they smoking?

I remember thinking this List was bullshite the first time it was posted here.

NOLA would be #1 except for those darn statues were still up and causing all kinds of crime the first few months of the year. Oh well, there is always next year.
How is NOLA 28th safest in natural disasters?

I don't give a damn where you lived. Prove me wrong. Seattle has 4100 violent crimes per year...NOLA at 3700. These are facts. Seattle is obviously a larger city but violent crime is very much alive and well in Seattle.

Can't believe Huntsville, AL, is ranked as low as it is at 113.

I've heard that Laredo, El Paso , and Fresno CA are all surprisingly safe
El Paso routinely makes the safest cities list. Impressive considering it borders Juarez.

Where’s Gretna on that list? Nothing happens there. Place is awesome. Their cops don’t frick around

Yeah Laredo is pretty safe.

Oklahoma City is more dangerous than BR?

They figure financial "security" in there as well, which is weird for safest community. That's how JNU was ranked 19, because it has the highest per capita concentration of "millionaires" of any small city.

WTF is "natural disaster risk"?
Greensboro, NC ranks 31 in this, whereas Winston - Salem ,NC ranks 84 in this category.
they are 20 miles apart.
Any chance there’s a flood zone in Winston-Salem ? Or perhaps they are using insurance data and for whatever reason there are more incidents of fire damage in WS ?
Eta- I agree that the financial safety thing is a silly metric, but based on the website that compiled the list, it makes sense they include it

List is bullshite
Laredo is super safe. There's tons of federal agents hovering around.
Neuvo Laredo on the other hand is a complete shite hole.
Funny, Laredo does a huge George Washington Day Parade...we're talking 200k+ people. It's bizarre, but awesome.
Posted on 12/10/17 at 9:18 am to BeepNode
The border towns don't report thefts committed by illegals.

Two redeeming qualities to Laredo. This festival and the proximity to South Texas hunting. The Parade will probably get discontinued in the coming decades though.
