They also can easily gang up and kill whales by just jumping on them while they try to breath practically drowning them. Very savage muthafcukas

The only way I can see being cornered is if they back the shark into a cove near the shoreline...shark can’t breath air or walk...

The really cool thing is the orcas flip the sharks upside down which immobilizes them, then they rip their livers out.
Pretty diabolical actually.
You should see how they hunt seals on an ice flow. shite's cold blooded man.

Did you know there's only been 4 fatal human attacks by orcas in captivity and 3 of them were done by the same orca?

Be nice if we could get a pod of them in the Gulf to wreck some sharks for a few months.

Seems like I remember there being a video made by tourists on a boat in San Francisco Bay from some years ago where they watched a mother Orca kill and gut a full grown huge Great White Shark then allow her calf come up to feast on the Great White’s liver.

It was only 2 or 3 younger ones, the man pod must have been off somewhere. They were a little curious about us then it was like people, we are out of here. They probably came in because of fish struggling or something

baffling to me there have been zero reported orca attacks on man in the wild.
Guess They won't attack mammals that look as harmless as a human.

The eating of the liver only is always interesting. Pretty clear pattern now that they do that often.
ETA: I want to say that one of the pair has a drop fin disorder where the dorsal fin flops over. Maybe both of them have it, I can't remember.

Its baffling to me how a shark can be "cornered" in the ocean, where they can swim in every direction.
Orcas are many times smarter than sharks. It is hypothesized, maybe it has even been seen/filmed, that the Orcas work as a team to flip the shark upside down, putting it into tonic immobility. Then, it is easy.
I also bet that Orcas may be even more aggressive than most sharks when they are hunting. Couple that with the ability for them to work together and sharks are on the menu.

Orcas are probably more intelligent than some humans roaming around our country these days

Believe that's why they are called Port and Starboard.

There is a nat geo show, I think it maybe on humpback whales or something, but they actually video a pair of orcas kill a humpback calf despite the efforts of its mother, and I think all they ate was the tongue or something like that.
I think it took them hours

but it wouldn’t shock me if they feel more kinship with us than we feel with primates
How in the hell would they know all that by only seeing a dude in a scuba suit and flippers?
