A teenager was killed and three people were wounded, including an 11-year-old, when gunfire erupted outside a high school graduation ceremony in Northern California, according to police.

The shooting took place at about 7:15 p.m. local time Wednesday in the parking lot of Fairfield High School after a ceremony ended there for Sem Yeto High School graduates, the Fairfield Police Department said.

Four victims were shot, police said. An 18-year-old died while an 11-year-old, a 20-year-old and a 25-year-old were injured, police said.

'We do not accept it': Family reacts to acquittal in fatal shooting of 14-year-old Cyrus Carmack-Belton

It's not clear if the 18-year-old was a graduating student.

There is no ongoing threat to the community, police said.

Authorities did not immediately comment on the suspect or suspects involved

Highly debatable depending on the demographics of said community.

By saying this they actually do partially comment on the suspect/suspects involved.

I'm not sure. The district website says the district is 90% minority, but in California that could mean anything. Hell, in Los Angeles White kids are a minority, although I doubt if that is the way the Fairfield school district is using the term.

Most likely the one that everyone hates, unless of course they're on your sportsball team of choice

Fairfield is in the East Bay (Oakland suburb) so likely the usual suspects.

Because 90% of them cause 90% of the problems. Especially on situations like this.

Wait what

That’s what I was thinking. “Journalists” can’t even write a story that’s understandable anymore.

Who was fatally shot? 18 year old? 14 year old? 14 year old fatally shot 18 year old? Two completely different stories overlapped?

Closer to Sacramento than Oakland.

Shooter was a black male though
