shite. I must have more game than I thought.
I didn’t have any land, crops or livestock when I got married.

Could you imagine dat snatch in 1865, no razor and they only took a bath once a month.
I’m sure I would hit it though, never turned much down myself

Pretty sure he succeeded. His ancestors are the basement dwellers saying OT8s aren't worth their time.

Compare that 18 year old to an 18 year old today.
Owned a home and farm and seemed relatively accomplished
But still using a form of media to find a spouse. Some things change, some stay the same

Plot twist.
His name was actually Buford Culpepper and his family owned a cotton plantation outside of Augusta GA. He is actually 26 yrs old and he deserted his unit near the end of the war, stole a horse and the company payroll and rode north. He was swindled out of his confederate money and sold a worthless patch of rock and weeds. His "buckwheat" is just uncut grass. He is actually broke, malnourished, and hasn't been laid since '62. He will freeze to death the following winter.

This dude owned a house, land, with multiple animals, all at only 18. Yet today's 18 year olds could hardly even be considered adults.

About a third of the way I started reading in Ron Swanson’s voice. Not lying.

This guy owned 18 acres at 18 and everyone today says boomers were spoon fed.
Yeah, and he farmed it himself, by hand. What a lazy bastard.

One of you single guys should post something like that on a dating app and report back your results.
