I know. The sheer stupidity of some is truly mind blowing.
Like I said, if the deceased was white, this wouldn't make the news. What will it take for some assume responsibility for their actions?

I'll be honest, I'd have no interest in fighting or sacrificing for half of this country right now against a "common threat." And I have no idea why they'd consider doing so for me (spoiler alert: they wouldn't).

Just wondering, pure hypothetical here. Let's say that Ma'Khia was the one who called the police, and the other girls banged on her door to fight her.
If Ma'Khia was to grab a gun in the house, call the police and say she's about to get jumped, go outside the house and shoot the girls standing in her front yard ready to jump her. Wouldn't that count as murder? I would think that it would.
That's basically what happened here, except it was a knife instead of a gun ( but everyone, or rather most everyone knows, a knife can make you just as dead as a gun) Someone being in your front yard doesn't give you free reigns to try and kill them, and say that you were defending yourself/property.

Would depend entirely on the state and its laws. In Alabama, all a person really has to do is pull up in your yard and say, "I'm going to kill you!", and you can light them up. Used to be, if you did that you had to phone a friend and drag them partway into the house. That's no longer the case.

1) Whoever called the Cops said there was a person with a knife then hung up.
2) When cops arrived, girl in Pink ran over to him immediately and began talking to him.
3) Girl in pink stood there calmly as everyone else was stupidly fighting with cops standing there.
4) Mikaya quickly pulled out the knife and tried to stab girl in pink, which means they were already in some altercation before Cops got on scene.
