You realize the "beating the chest" isn't about the score itself or raw composite, it's about the percentage of student who achieved that score.

In 2025, 32% of the Seniors from MHS achieved at least a 30 on the ACT. Most (non magnet) public schools in Louisiana see fewer than 5% to 10% of their student body clear a 30 on the ACT so to be better than Mandeville it's rarely done by anyone beyond those highly selective, admission-tested magnet schools like Haynes Academy for Advanced Studies or Patrick F. Taylor Science and Technology Academy, etc.

The average ACT composite score in Louisiana is 18.4, and the national average is 19.4. Mandeville High’s senior class averaged a 23. When looking strictly at traditional, open-enrollment public neighborhood schools no other public school in Louisiana matched Mandeville's 32.4% mark.

If you want to change the score and move the goalposts, regardless of what you set it to, MHS will still be at the very tip of the spear.
