In addition to it being a large black woman, they have to make her look like a complete miserable a-hole
She could be holding a child's hand or wearing a chef's hat or driving a tractor trailer for all I care, something worth celebrating
But no, she's got to be black, obese, and looming over everyone sanctimoniously fierce and defiant against the oppressive society that...puts up random statues of large black women doing absolutely nothing that nobody asked for

Someone should put up a bronze insulin bottle statue and a wheelchair.

The delusions of grandeur the woke is truly something to behold. But I guess when you're trying to bilk a city out of a bunch of money for creating a statue of a fat black lady, you need to really sell it...apparently by using a woke word salad that just overwhelms.

The writer must have a different David statue in mind.
She has no purse, I think the sculptor captured her "Where's the mofo who just snatched my purse" look that is so common in certain US streets.

Who literally commissioned this and how much did it cost taxpayers?
Supporters of this crap will tell you that it was paid for using "private" funding. *wink wink

How long before a bunch of black women start bitching because this likeness is not an accurate portrayal of the average black woman. “Not all of us are fat”. “Redo the statue”!!!! “We aren’t satisfied “. “Give us more”

A. frick all of them
B. Most of the ones that are trying to look hot are trying to look white, fact end of story.
Dress white, try to do your hair like a white girl and straighten it, etc. The list is long. They basically do everything the hot whites do, hilarious.
To bad they cant do anything about that terrible looking muff they have. So gross.

NYC is wild now. I walked from Times Square to WTC last Thursday because it was nice out and stumbled into a rather massive pro-immigration/anti-trump protest/march around the financial district. I had to cross the street so I cut through the crowd, which seemed relatively harmless until those mother frickers started yelling “from the river to the sea” in my face.
Not awesome since non-Anglo-Saxtons think I look exactly like Lil Dicky.

The statue in Times Square should have had the Angel Reese burger from McDonald’s. I am sure that was a big seller….

That statue belongs in front of a Popeyes or The Juicy Crab, not Times Square
