If it requires my dog to get up and move around a whole lot, he’s probably not gonna do it.

My corgi/collie mix is much more aggressive than he is. She jumps, nips at his legs, always tries to herd him.

You willing to fight your Pit Bull in hand to paw combat to the death if he bits someone? Cuz I'm willing to fight my chocolate lab to the death if he bites someone.

That sounds like a anti gun argument.

Went to a friends camp over the weekend. Her brother had 2 pit bulls. 1 regular sized one and one that looked like it was half mastiff. Apparently he was full bred. They both scared the shite out of me. The big one had to weigh around 250 lbs.

Yup.

This board is so wishy-washy. It’s full of ballers and baws who want to check knuckles. I guess if I take my dog to Sonic I’ll be guaranteed to win some scraps.

But seriously, I never said pit bulls weren’t aggressive. Stats show that they can be. It takes a lot of attention to raise one. If you don’t have the time nor patience, then it’s not for you.

All it takes is one kid to grab his tail or do something that sets that dog off...someone told me most homeowners insurance providers won't insure pit bull owners or if they do it costs more.

It's not aggressiveness that makes Pits so dangerous, it's their unpredictability, how many stories have we seen "He was just the best dog, until he bit that kid's face off?" when discussing a Pit?

You can't tell me your dog has never done ANYTHING that would lead you to believe he COULD be violent... No Pit owner can. I can say with 100% assurance that neither my lab nor my Danes would EVER EVER EVER act violently for no reason whatsoever. I would hesitate to even say either of them would do anything violent under any circumstances, especially the lab, all he wants to do is eat and play.

Couple that with their size and strength and you have a dangerous arse dog.

Pit bulls seem to have the innate desire to attack/dominate that never leaves them as long as they live.

A lot of them are bred to fight. They take the biggest and most aggressive dogs of the litters and breed them.

In some cases, people innerbred them. Anyone who adopts a pitbull puppy really has no idea what they are getting.

And on top of irresponsible breeding, they are extremely strong. Once their jaws lock on something, that's it. They don't let go. And they shake their heads to tear apart whatever they grab ahold to.

The strength of the dogs should be the reason there needs to be some type of campaign to limit the breeding of them. And IMO, just like other laws that are designed to protect kids (car safety seats, etc), there should be some type of law in which it makes it illegal for a residence with child living in it, illegal to own a pitbull.

1. If you have a criminal history at all you can not legally own a pit bull.

2. If you are Hispanic, you can not legally own a pit bull.

3. Random drug tests will be performed, and if you fail, your pit bull will be removed from the home.

4. If you own a tank top or a pair of jorts, you may not own a pit bull.

The words pitbull and gun can be exchanged in this scenario

I rescued a pit mix about 6 years ago. He was a pup, so I wasn’t quite sure on the breed.

6 years in, zero attacks. He sleeps in his kennel at night, and cuddles on the couch with me and Miss TT08 constantly.

It doesn’t take rocket science to raise a dog, any dog, properly. Secure your yard and do some simple training.

You realize the dog is just waiting for the perfect opportunity?

Liberals say ban guns, they’re dangerous.

Republicans say it’s the irresponsible people that ruin it for all other gun owners.

I can assume liberals are the ones who want to ban the dogs?

How do owners think that “gotta raise em rot” is going to somehow change their natural instincts? Like being responsible can mutate the dog DNA

That's such a shitty argument. Let me know when the first time a gun decides to attack someone on it's own accord occurs

It's so goofy to see some of the machinations people will go through to try to justify their ownership of this shite breed.

A gun neither has natural instincts nor the ability to act on those instincts by itself.

Dumb shite.

Gf has a half pit half chocolate lab.

One half is way more of a pain in the arse than the other

Sweet dog, but I watched him eat 20 bread ties last night for his own amusement

I thought this was Germans, but now realize this is the SECOND pit bull attack at a school THIS YEAR.

Pit Bull School Attack in March 2018

Would everyone agree that even one pit bull ravaging a friggin’ elementary school is one too many? Per century???

My chocolate Lab is named Snickers and he's a pussy. But at least I don't have to worry about one of my kids losing a face.
