I was actually talking to Animal Control in my parish just yesterday and the conversation turned to pit bulls. He told me the meanest and toughest dogs he's ever dealt with were pit bulls. Said they will attack for no reason and he sees it all the time. Apparently there are lots of attacks that don't make the news and actually advised me that if I ever see one, don't call Animal Control and to just go straight to calling the sheriff's office and he reminded me that I have the right to defend myself using a deadly weapon against any animal that strays onto my property and becomes aggressive.
Just my own personal conversation with an Animal Control representative.

Pit bulls seem to have the innate desire to attack/dominate that never leaves them as long as they live.

I've never met a high IQ individual with a Pitbull. There might be 2 maybe 3 out there, but I have yet to see one

I shot a pit bull in the skull last year. He was a stray that kept using my backyard as a shortcut between 2 sets of wood lines. Started off shooting him with BBs but he wasn’t scared. He made it where I wouldn’t let my kids go outside unattended by me. NO SIR!!! No pit bull will hold my family hostage. I popped his arse with a .22 laser sighted scope off my back porch. Put his arse to sleep and said no prayers. Next one( if there ever is one) won’t get a second chance. No BBs. Going down on the first pass.

I have an American pitbull terrier. My IQ is likely a full 1-1.5 standard deviations higher than yours.

LOL Son , some of us live in the country, animal control is a rifle.
I kill at least one or two dogs each year on my property, they chase calves, or do other property damage. frick that, you don't want your dog getting shot, keep it on your own property.

Why? You call animal control when you can’t control the situation. He had it under control. Animal control would have scooped the dog up, put it in a kennel, try to find a home for it, then kill it. He saved everyone some time if you ask me.

If it requires my dog to get up and move around a whole lot, he’s probably not gonna do it.
My corgi/collie mix is much more aggressive than he is. She jumps, nips at his legs, always tries to herd him.
