truth. the vast majority of people cannot or will not push themselves physically to this point. mentally they are too soft. they quit.

it is that mental challenge that this training brings to the table. this training does not suddenly turn you into Drago.

...you are the definition of the pussification of America.

go look at my other post. everyone, except for you apparently, is well aware that this does not turn you into Drago. It is about mental toughness. Period.

or maybe dumbass....i happen to be quite well versed in S&C and value performance over some bullshite from a fat frick of a coach thinking he knows best

except we see this play out the exact opposite over and over again on the field....you know the thing that matters

but your coach told you so it must be true right?

im not gonna sit here and argue with you because you are going to beleive wtf you want to believe anyways. but results on the field matter not the amount of gassers you did or foul poles you did....the fricking score board and the performance metrics that go into winning the game

i never mentioned anything about drago...im talking about dumbass training like in the OP.

Guarantee you have never caught or thrown correctly with a lacrosse stick let alone played the sport. But yea, you are going to be so cool and edgy by calling them pussies. What a fricking loser you are.

My daughter had it once, her ck levels was in the 15k range. She was in the hospital for about 5 days being pumped full of fluids. Nurse had to check her pee every time she went. I had never heard of it before then.

Glad to see the love for wrestlers. I coach in high school and my kids are absolute physical beasts and I don't have any rhabdo issues

no. I am the coach. And I do constant research, talk to friends all over the country. From HS coaches, to NCAA coaches, to Olympic coaches. I talk to them all to be sure that I am giving my athletes the best chance to surpass their goals.

"...training like that does not make you mentally tougher and sure as hell doesnt help performance..."

this is just dead wrong. it 100% makes you mentally stronger. is it something you should do every day, of course not. but having the confidence that you trained harder than your competition is a huge confidence boost. knowing that you can push past the pain, is a confidence builder. but you would rather tell kids to quit because practice was hard.

rant over.

Cade Doughty (former LSU baseball player) got hurt last off-season doing something like this. Blue jays put some of their prospects in some type of navy seal leadership program and he re-injured his shoulder and probably set him back a year in his career.

Worst I saw was above the upper limit of what we could check.

This girl was at some “behavior camp” and she was made to squat for hours.

Had a pt a few months ago with a CK around 50k.

She didn’t normally work out and then decided to bike ride 10 miles.

Didn’t go well.

There is some outfit out there doing these "Navy SEALs" training camps for men that have "lost their way" and charging $18k to humiliate dudes and give them rhabdo.

I'm sorry, what?

BUD/S builds up to the volume of work over several weeks time and even then some of them get it. Extremely irresponsible to just thrown people into it without any prep.

wrong

it doesnt

if you still think this then you are not doing very good research

look into feed the cats theory and tony hollier and true speed training

look at gerry deflippo and his challenger strength stuff

look at zach dechant at tcu

look at mike boyle

look at explosive mechanics, zac goodman and fahey(@burntheladders)

hell even go look at defranco's stuff, at the minimum read this LINK

at least get an understanding of the rest:work ratios and understand all those so called "mentally tough" workouts are literally making your kids slower, less recovered and weaker overall. it is making them play slow.

you can rant all you want but you are wrong

just like they were wrong that with holding water made you tougher

just like they were wrong that speed ladders gave you better agility

just like they were wrong with the whole "quick feet, dont eat" BS

one thing people need to understand though about BUD/S....it is literally there to get you to drop out. its the weed out as much as possible.

why the hell would we want to weed kids off of a team? especially HS coaches doing crap like this.

Cross training and high intensity training is extremely important in all athletics and i love seeing that more and more programs are moving to that.

Research from the eastern bloc says you’re wrong.

Old school methods work.

And to be clear, high intensity is not a grimace face and yelling.

I am not sure I would go that far. We do practice hard, we have to, but it is nothing to the SEALS. I am a big fan of Goggins tho, his mental toughness is insane. I am not sure I would put my body through all that he has but I do admire his ability to overcome obstacles

Even a lot of SEALs think Goggins is nuts and not in a good way.
