But seriously get to the bottom of your COBRA coverage and your insurer will give them a couple hundred bucks and it will be all good.

This. You are likely still eligible for Cobra. Pay the back payments on it.

File for COBRA retroactively (it’s part of the law) and claim it. It will save you money.

7,000 dollars for a CT scan. I refused at the time, they told me I needed a to be scanned. And 12 stitches. 10,000 dollars...

shoulda went to an urgent care if it wasn't that bad. also, talk to the financial office for the hospital. I know people who got their bill reduced to the point they're just going to be billed $50/month for the next decade for a 5 day hospital stay.

We wouldn't have developed this kind of medical technology without capitalism, dumbo.

I'd rather go the Home Depot and get cheap mexican medical care than go the hospital for stiches.

Wait... you hit your head and went to the ER? Unless you were out cold and got taken, why did you go to an ER?

Probably could have gotten seen in an urgent care for less then $200.00.

So now we need to know what you actually did to get these stitches? I’ve had a few friends get stitches on their head and didn’t get CT scans.

My child getting dental work outpatient (7-9am) cost more than my c section and 3 day stay to have her. $15000.

I busted my head open on more than one occasion. Needed stitches each time. Never needed a CT scan. We aren't getting the full story here.

You’re not paying for stitches and a CT scan, you’re the sucker paying the light bill this month.

If you give me a little more info I’ll tell you Medicare rates for the CPT codes you were billed. Tell them you’ll pay 80% of that (all they would get if you had any Humana plan lol). If they say no then tell them they can have $0

Did you go to one of those ochsner ED/Urgent care things? Cuz most urgent cares definitely don't have a CT scan laying around.

Thank you idiots pushing for more middle men.

A free market would have the costs down to tolerable levels. Alas, there hasn't been a free market in the health care field for decades, and look at the costs.

That is the full story. Busted my head on a pool, some dumb bitch tried to push me in.

12 weak arse stitches and a CT scan I refused to have done but they told me I “needed”.

$7800 dollars for ct scan
$2000 for ER visit (small urgent care in Florida)
$1000 for medication and “administration of vaccine”

I’m praying they’ll cut these charges at least in half but not looking good.

They will settle for $100. Negotiate it and get it in writing.
