I used to zipline off a 30 ft cliff in the woods as a kid it was nothing but a rope and a straight bar on a pulley you hang from. No harness or anything. Learn to hold on

I still do this as an adult

Homemade zip line starts in the trees and goes over a driveway and you fall into a homemade pond.

Takeoff area is the only spot where ground is anywhere near close.

That poor kid. I wish I hadn't seen this. I hope he doesn't have too much permanent damage

Are you insinuating he isn’t deserving of being compensated?

This kid is also hanging

Prosecutors are calling it 20 feet

The state investigators are calling it 15-16 feet, that likely takes into account the height of the hanging kid. It’s

Kid needs to work on his grip strength.

So you’re arguing 4.25 ft instead of 4?

You should. I have a morbid sense of humor and will laugh at all kinds of things. But.... What is funny about a 10yr old kid sustaining life threatening injury?

Not in the least. But it was disingenuous as hell when the woman got on TV and said she is only suing in order to protect other kids.

I am just pointing out how long it takes a 5’9” guy to fall while hanging from 10ft, compared to how long it takes this 5’0” kid to fall while hanging

Thats a huge reason why people should sue

Often I hear people say, especially when someone dies “what’s the point, it won’t bring them back...”

Well, here is a personal story. My uncle died while a teenager. Drove his car under a cane truck on a foggy day. The truck was broke down and had no lights. My grandparents didn’t sue.

Company did nothing to add lights to their trucks, and one of their good friends kids died the same way not longer after. Suing, while it gets a bad name, does help keep checks and balances

Friction is your friend. Without friction, none of us would be here.
