A recent tweet listed the 10 things everyone should keep in their car.
How many of these do you currently have in your car?
1. First Aid kit
2. Fire extinguisher
3. Jumper cables
4. Tow rope or strap
5. Reflective triangles
6. Tire pressure gauge
7. Multipurpose utility tool
8. Duct Tape
9. Blanket
10. Flashlight
All of the above are sensible.
I only have 3. I have ratchet straps, tire pressure gauge, and a first aid kit.

Its good to have water available. Its good to get one of those plastic boxes that you would get from the box store or something and put most of these items in there and include 1 or 2 bottles of water. Its a good idea to change out the bottles every several months, but there are multiple reasons water can come in handy.
In a safety class once, they told us that having something to clean your windshield is a good idea (of course it depends on where you are going out in the field) then showed us how Coke is a good tool for cleaning windshields that have a lot of bugs splattered on it, or headlights.. As well as getting the corrode off of a battery.
Gun?
