Anything light was already gay before BL added nuts.
If you’re going to drink, get some Turbodog like a man. Amber is the lightest you should go.

Why can't we be as accurate as the Europeans? We are better at almost everything except weather models.

The guys I deer hunt with they all switched to Mich Ultras after that fiasco.
I'm a runner, we're required by law to drink Michelob Ultra.

people get way too hung up on "which model is more accurate".
You look at what a number of them show, ask what makes sense and build the idea in your head from that. Theyre tools, not crystal balls.
The story here with the northern shift today, has two parts I think. The baja shortwave is ejecting a little faster and farther north, and is getting a little stronger by the height rises in front from all the moisture and heat coming in from the Pacific.
We're getting a deeper low with the stronger temp gradient, and bringing more warm air up from the gulf and warming a column some over the top of the dense (but typically shallow) cold air.
This, to me, is why the modeling has shifted. See, models can really inform you of the players/situation/ect but its only useful if you have an idea why its doing what its doing.

My uncle, who works in the Weather Channel front office, just texted me and said the latest GFS hammers SELA... can you explain what that means
Posted on 1/21/26 at 4:10 pm to LSUsmartass
Id heavily discount the GFS right now. It has a bad handle on this and is out on its own. It keeps missing the phase.

as someone right on I-20, I'm trying to decide if we should head south for the weekend or stay
I know you have no idea of that answer, but being right on the edge of impacts is frustrating me
I really don't want to be without power for a prolonged time (more than 24 hours)

What about along the I-20 corridor?
Dallas-->Shreveport--> Monroe?

If they can just keep the power on. It shouldn’t be that hard in 2026 to slough off an inch of ice.
