Do you have a personal local guru or just a general local guru?

I keep a guru locked in the basement for times like these

When he is wrong I have him flogged with the cat o 9 tails and then doused in rubbing alcohol. Most accurate weather guru you’ll ever find

Well if I’m wrong my guru is going to have a bad week of flogging and eating milk sandwiches from all the milk and bread I bought for no reason

GFS and Canadian are in close agreement. Euro is furthest north with no frozen precip south of I-20

All the other models fall in between the GFS and Euro. South Louisiana likely has nothing to worry about. Central La and north will see ice, same for Ms. If you’re north of I-20 prepare for worst, south of I-20 be prepared but not likely to see anything extreme.

Euro is the best model though.

Smart. Tabasco sauce and sandpaper is a Summertime activity.

as someone right on I-20

I would expect some impacts. I20 is just a good rough line for North LA into Central MS and AL. Youre in Shreveport area if i recall, Id expect something and some pain in the arse, in terms of ice.

The forecast for North LA is extremely tricky. Thats the reality.

as someone right on I-20, I'm trying to decide if we should head south for the weekend or stay

I know you have no idea of that answer, but being right on the edge of impacts is frustrating me

I really don't want to be without power for a prolonged time (more than 24 hours)

We deal with that along the Ohio River. We usually end up getting the shitty freezing rain line on the South side of the river and Southern Indiana usually gets the snow.

I have a weather guru living in one of my guest bedrooms for awhile.

They provided me with this up to date precipitation map earlier this afternoon.

Plan accordingly.

Not sure if it's been said in this thread but there's supposed to be an airplane today investigating the system in the Pacific Ocean bringing the precipitation

Either tonight's model runs or the 1s in the morning will have the information the plane crew finds which should hopefully answer some of the forecast questions
