Yeah, it will probably shift south again. But the more it goes it looks better for us along the 1-10 corridor

All that doomsday hype and none of the Deep South will get anything

I’ve never seen the models be so far off within 24 hours

This is why meteorologists shouldn’t post doomcast maps 6-7 days out. The trend continues to keep the worst of the weather away from South Louisiana.

Our local meteorologists are all in the “We won’t know anything until much closer” mode rightfully so.

It’s the “unofficial” rage baiting social media weather folks who are posting models long before they’re even accurate. I clicked on my local guy on Twitter/X and all of a sudden my feed was full of idiots from all over screaming about Storm of the century type stuff.

This 100%

Let the algorithm know you’re seeking weather data for a potential storm and the feed becomes overrun with it.

And that's not to discount all of them. Hell, I'm pretty sure there's some folks who post here who do well interpreting weather maps but aren't official meteorologists (in the on the news working with NWS sense).

It's just seeing folks rage bait with maps that show over an inch of ice for areas that won't get that kind of ice because they can't interpret appropriate ratios and how air affects when/where certain types of precipitation falls.

I had a guy show up in my feed that is saying Louisville will get 30 inches of snow and 2 inches of ice.

when you start to own stuff that trees and fall on and destroy, tornadoes, ice storms and hurricanes become a lot less exciting.

This. Add to that 125 employees and and things get even more interesting.

I own a lot of trees. Ice may be a blessing in disguise.

Airlines are starting to issue travel waivers. American, Delta, and United already have theirs out. Surprisingly Southwest hasn't issued anything yet.

I have 50. I know what you mean.

Right now, for my location, I'm in the waiting game between model resolutions. Now is about time I put less faith in the globals. Just waiting until hi-res models come into range.

Storm of the century

Does anyone like me hate this term?

Everyone seems to use as it a cliche or go to term to heighten the severity of a storm.

Same with floods with the 100 year flood term. So how many 100 year flood occur in a 100 year period. With some experts, they use it so much that it is more periodic than 100 years.

Can we just opt out of the ice storm?

ETA: I asked a coworker in the hall if he was prepared for the ice storm.

He said "why are they coming here?"

Zach is the worst of the worst when it comes to local guys who doomcast. He is always wrong. He needs to stick to playing with his wifes giant tits.

Please keep shifting north.

I really don't feel like dealing with the aftermath of a severe icing at next week.
