I'd trade everyone on the team lol. This roster sucks and Daniels is a future All Pro at the most important position.

Getting ride of Lattimore helps with the future cap, and gives you the biggest building piece in a rebuild/reset. The qb.

What rebuild. You just got Daniels, Caleb Williams, or Drake Maye and are putting them behind a terrible line. You don’t have another first round pick until 2026. You’re OL and WRs will be late round picks for the next two years.

Why not take a top OT or DE in the first and draft a guy like Pennix, Nix, Pratt, or Hartman in later rounds? I get this is an LSU website and people will obsess about Daniels, but all the QBs have questions and nobody knows which will pan out. Besides, it’s likely we lose more games next year, so let’s wait and draft a QB higher next year.

No way. A rookie QB isn’t fixing this team. Due to our past drafting blunders, we need an influx of talent. If anything, we need to trade back and get more picks.

I don’t even care about the team being “fixed” and would prefer the rookie to sit.

I just want to move forward with the future. But it’s like Snipe said: if we are keeping Allen/carr you bet they won’t be spending that kind of capital for the future while he and Mickey are focused on a salvage job.

I would not make that trade for one simple reason that we see happen routinely around the draft.

Back in 2018, the debates/conversations around this time were about whether Baker, Darnold or Rosen should be the #1 pick; yet Josh Allen goes 7, Lamar went 32nd. It's too much of a gamble to put that many assets in a single player.

Had you drafted Spears instead of miller last year you would actually have a QB, 3 young WRs, and good RBs. You need to improve the OL, but a core of Olave, Shaheed, Perry, Kamara, Spears, and Hill/Johnson is a pretty good nucleus

Thank you. Same thing with Tribuski, Watson, Mahomes and Lamar.

Found one of the "frick LSU no matter what - excuse me while I go cut off my nose to spite my face" Saints fans.

And I found another LSU homer that if Daniels never played for LSU, you wouldn't even know who he is. Daniels is a bust. Give me pratt in the middle rounds all day over him.

I’d rather trade 14 and a player to move up and draft Bowers!

The line would have to be much better for Daniels to succeed. His play was elevated tremendously in his senior year because of his o-line being more experienced and giving him better protection.

With the Saints current offensive line, they would be setting him up for failure if they tried to throw him in too early.

Caleb William and Jayden will be gone within the first two picks, this ain't enough to get him. Not even close really. And I don't think either team will trade the pick. Both need qbs. Wash especially.

This.

Carolina sent the following to Chicago last year to move from 9 to 1:

DJ Moore, 2023 first- and second-round picks, a 2024 first-round choice, and a 2025 second-round pick.

To get from 14 to 1-3, the Saints would probably have to give up Lattimore, a second this year (along with the first they would be swapping), next year's 1st and 3rd, and likely a high 2025 pick.

Washington and New England very likely want QBs. Chicago at 1 would probably be the only possible dance partner. And that's only if they decide the haul they could get for #1 for the second year is worth keeping Fields. Given the Saints have an aging, and expensive roster, they will eventually need some cheap contracts. Giving up a ton of draft picks is not the way to do that.

you absolutely would not be able to build around Jayden unless you found some gems late in the draft and undrafted free agency

What do you mean? We have some receivers. Do you mean we don't have OL depth? Wouldn't that apply to other QB's even more, as daniels is mobile to get out of the pocket?

I like Pratt too but saying Daniels is a bust is quite a take.

Id make that deal for a "cant miss" OT. Not a QB

Im not a Carr fan but he would be exponentially better with a younger, better group in front of him.

I do not think their is an OT of that caliber in this class

We would be setting Daniels or Williams up for failure

Carr is going to be the QB in 2024 like it or not

Frick that. If they draft or sign a QB this offseason and he ends up better than Carr, start that guy. Frick the money issue.
