Would you trade 14, Lattimore and next year’s 1st to draft Daniels?

You can’t sell me on Carr and Allen as the answer. If we don’t play the softest schedule on top of a bunch of backup QBs we are picking in the top 7 this year. The team hates both of them, many don’t care for MT13 but he at least speaks what the team is thinking out loud and it isn’t going to get better.

Ooof. I mean, yes... But at the same token you absolutely would not be able to build around Jayden unless you found some gems late in the draft and undrafted free agency.

No.

Carr is going to be the QB in 2024 like it or not. They're committed to Carr ad DA so they have to make decisions the improve their chances of success.

If Loomis trades assets to move up and pick a QB (that will sit for a year and learn) and not get assets that can help D.A. and Carr improve then he's saying he's giving up on both. If he's giving up on both then he would have replaced the whole staff at the end of the season.

Given the situation, I would do the same. I might trade up but for the best OT or offensive weapon for Carr.

I wasn't against picking a QB initially but in order for that to be a possibility they would have had to part ways with DA and bring in a new coaching staff. You still have Carr for 2024 but you're not committed to him the way you are by keeping DA.

Fear not though, they may both be gone in 2025.

Yes.

This weekend you saw that great to elite QB play is needed to win in this league. Jayden Daniels and Caleb Williams no matter the hate bring that hope, that they can develop and be the guy to play great to elite football.

Derek Carr has shown his entire career that he is incapable of that. Not once during Championship weekend, hell even during the Divisional round did I think Derek Carr could play at a great to elite level with the lights shining the brightest.

In a heartbeat. The problem is that I don’t think the Redskins would accept that offer.

Let's see who the OC will be first before throwing out those kinds of hypotheticals. Daniels is the type of kid that would be ruined by awful coaching and being tossed into the fire year 1, which is what the Saints would do. In the NFL that could cost him a long career. I'd much rather him go somewhere where he could sit and learn, and be coached accordingly.

Caleb William and Jayden will be gone within the first two picks, this ain't enough to get him. Not even close really. And I don't think either team will trade the pick. Both need qbs. Wash especially.

You wouldn’t throw Daniels in there year 1 though, that’s the idea. Carr has to be on the team no matter what next year so you let Daniels have a redshirt year just like Mahomes had with Alex Smith and then after DA and Carr frick it up again you move on and start the Daniels era with a new staff coaching him. Then you grab the best OL or DT available in the 2nd this year to start patching up the OL for when Jayden would take over.

I would, but I'm just a fan with nothing on the line.

However, unless Loomis knows that he's keeping Allen past this coming season, he won't draft a QB. It doesn't make sense to let Allen pick the QB that the next regime would be stuck trying to win with. Just my two cents.

I didn't know he was the designated team spokesman now?

I feel like this is just how you dig the hole even deeper. I totally get what you’re saying though and agree. Just think it was the wrong decision overall.

I believe it was too. However, and top OT or offensive weapon is not like a wasted pick if you clean house in 2025.

The line has to be fixed whether its Carr or a new QB.

Wish I could have heard the conversation between Mickey and DA about how giving Carr $150 mil with $100 guaranteed was a good idea. Were they taking shrooms and tripping balls? Maybe Loomis got ahold of some that toad venom that makes people nuts. These are about the only reasons I can understand how that conversation could be taken seriously.

Our 1st round picks have largely been misses recently anyway. This FO seems better at finding value in later rounds.

Found one of the "frick LSU no matter what - excuse me while I go cut off my nose to spite my face" Saints fans.

No way. A rookie QB isn’t fixing this team. Due to our past drafting blunders, we need an influx of talent. If anything, we need to trade back and get more picks.

Carr will be QB next year. And probably the year after that. We need OL and a pass rush. Losing one of our best players and a top draft pick for a lottery ticket isn’t how to build a team.

Said it already, 14 Thomas Kamara and lattimore for #1, throw in a comp pick or 2 to get the deal done

I 100% would and it’s dumb to not even think about it or attempt it. But to me it’s if one of the top 3 teams isn’t picking a qb. Does Washington believe in Howell? Does Chicago keep Fields? With that being said this team needs to reset. Go get a young qb, let him sit, let Carr face the rebuild, focus on finding good late round picks. Invest more in scouting at this point. Getting ride of Lattimore helps with the future cap, and gives you the biggest building piece in a rebuild/reset. The qb. They just won’t do that because of they somehow seem to be invested in Allen and no way Allen is down to get rid of Carr or do that to Carr
