Would you have traded #8 for Dexter Lawrence?

Cincinnati traded 10 for him then gave him a 1 year $28 mil extension. Normally I’d say no to a trade like that but Lawrence is one if the very few interior DL that can wreck an offensive game plan week in and week out like Chris Jones in KC for so many years. I wouldn’t have been mad if we did the deal and I’m also good with taking a player at 8 on a rookie deal.

Of course not.
We are not 1 vet player away.

No but getting him on a 3yr 70 mil deal essentially and basically can get out of it for free after 1 yr. It’s not a bad deal for them. At 8 I think it would require a 3rd with him

They would be retarded to get out of it before 3 years. They spent the #10 pick on him
That would be a disaster

Obviously, I just meant they’re not tied up with a ton of guaranteed $$ in this deal.

You could say this if they signed him as a free agent, but you can't since they traded a first.

Hell no. I can’t believe they got a top ten pick for him.

turns 29 in November and entering his 8th season. He's been mostly durable and he's a proven player. I guess the Bengals feel they are close, but their defense sucked arse last year. He'll help out no doubt,
maybe he can free up some of the other players for them on the D-line but they don't have any other lights out pass rushers
I would like that for Chase Young, Bresee, and Grando if this were a Saints move but you also need help at CB and WR.
I probably wouldn't do it because if I had to guess his best years are behind him.

No. We need rookie deals.

They are
I listened to Chris Simms earlier and he said the local Giants radio guy who is in the know was being told by the coaches they thought he was washed. He also has been dealing with some sort of arm injury that may or may not be resolved
Too costly on pick when we need rookie deals

No.
you can acquire talent like that by paying top dollar on free agency. No need to give up a premium draft piece.

no just a no, but a frick no.
We are not contending this year, what we need to do is similar to the 2017 draft --- accumulate MULTIPLE cheap and value players over the course of the next 2-3 years.
Then if you wanna push all in 2-3 years down the line when you're contending or look to need to make a big push, fine go ahead. but this is year 2 in a rebuild, the answer is no.

Agreed. I think it was a ridiculous overpay. I think a lot of NFL fans are looking at this trade from a similar lens that NBA fans looked at the Derik Queen trade. There was 1 team that would have made those deals and the seller took advantage of their GM’s.

They gonna run Burrow out of town with stupid trades like this.
They didn’t want to pay Hendrickson coming off an all
Pro year but trade for a DT up in age? I could see a late first rounder but no frickin way you give up a top ten pick.
The smart play would have been trade Higgins for him straight up and draft Tate, Lemon or Tyson. Giants need a receiver. So now u reallocated big cap dollars to the defense and now have a receiver on a rookie contract the next five years to go along with Chase.
Retarded move by the bengals.
