What player is a possibility to slide to 16 that you want the most?

Kyle Hamilton's terrible pro day may cause him to slide. He's a S, so his value isn't high so it's hard to justify picking him top-10 unless he's a rare/perfect S. I think he may fall a bit and would fill a big need for that slot/SS hybrid role. He may ultimately project to Davis's replacement.
I think I'd still rather Stingley if he fell, though. Him falling would be like Latt falling in 2017 (a miracle). We play a lot of man and he's insane at man. I don't care if we have Roby as outside CB2, either. Sting has potential to be the best player in this draft.

If Kyle Hamilton fell to 16 that would be quite fantastic for us.
#16 - Kyle Hamilton
#19 - Best OT
2nd Round - Receiver

the last time the saints got the guy I desperately wanted going into the draft was Sedrick Ellis
I will trust Mickey and Ireland more than me.
(tho Lattimore was really high on my list)

The jokes about him and Jackson hitting the media buffets were the best part of his short tenure with NO.

We have 3 picks in the top 50. Get OT, FS, WR in any order with those picks. I could see them taking a stud DT if one drops as well.

Would cry tears of joy if we got him at 16. He is a true ball hawk. Watch Notre Dame's defense during the regular season with him in the game then against Okie State in the bowl without him and you can easily see the difference he made.

Whoever the best receiver is, LOL

Yah I'd agree Hamilton or Cross rn

Kayvon Thibodeaux is a slide candidate - if he's @ 16 that would be an interesting decision.
16 - Thibodeaux (DE)
19 - Penning (LT)
50 - Jalen Tolbert (WR)

I could be wrong (obviously) but I think this is more of a "mock draft industry" myth/wet dream than reality. Like them overrating Fields last year.

Definitely possible - it sort of depends which GMs are are downgrading him bc of his lack of bend. FWIW he could in theory go as high as #2 probably but I’ve seen mocks into the teens cropping up.
Could just be the draft neckbeards outsmarting themselves like you said. DE is position to watch for us tho.

I compared it to Latt falling (a miracle).
*ETA: his 40 doesn't change anything. Everyone knew he was running sub 4.4 at his pro day

It shows he’s fully recovered from a lisfranc. Pretty big deal with regards to his draft slot

Corner is the least of our worries right now. Stingley will be a great nfl player but the saints have obvious holes to fill and Stingley isn’t it.
I just want the best tackle and receiver in this draft to be available for us. That may not be the guy with the highest draft grade.

You draft to acquire talent.

You never draft for immediate needs.

Agreed.
Draft for 10 year starters, Pro Bowlers. Figure the rest of the shite out
We didn’t NEED Ram, CGJ, Kamara or Michael Thomas when we took them. The times we’ve drafted for need have been mostly a mix. Some successes (Lattimore, Marcus Williams, Erik McCoy) with some misses (Ruiz, Trautman, Baun). But when we’ve taken guys just based on projected talent wise, we’ve been fine. Ruiz was especially bad. It was fine at the time because we did need a guard for Brees
