We're still going to have a very high pick (unless Shough goes on a tear) and we don't have to be the #1 pick to find a serious game changer.

Even if we thought Shough wasn't the guy, the consensus is there isn't a QB who is obviously;y worth the #1 overall so... enjoy it, I guess?
Those are pretty good numbers for a guy standing behind a row of turnstiles
Embrace the healing power of “and”
This seems like the right move. We are not a QB away. Both lines need a ton of new bodies.

I figured we’d be bad enough to get a top 3 pick and there’s where we’re at, so I’m no drama this season.
Poor Spencer, the rest of the team just keeps letting him down
anyone who is a Spencer Rattler fan pretty much has to say this

Why does it matter if the losses are his fault? If we are sitting on the number one pick is anyone on this board going to say "we should pass on a QB, we are set with Rattler..."?

I guess it's possible that some will, but most of us are going to want them to draft a QB.

Is that really a choice the team has?

Yes.... there is a long list of no name WRs who looked like generational stars when Brees was throwing them balls
What if we’re not tanking? What if we just really suck and neither QB pans out?

Nice!

I kinda want to see the move that got Tipton so wide open though.
I'm as delusional a fan as anyone, but there is way too much smoke out there for there to be no fire. An awful lot of experts would have to be wrong for us to exceed these expectations. Hope it happens but I dunno...
I like the optimism... Shough will be 11-0 when he gets injured and we'll need a veteran to go 3-2 over a 5 game stretch while Shough gets healthy for a superbowl run.
Standing by for the rush of "first rounder of GTFO" posts from some of the same people who've been saying he's washed up for the last 18 months.
We do not have a championship roster. I guess you have to bring in a FA QB to keep up appearances, but I'd rather see if Shough has got it or not. We're probably picking high next season anyway, might as well put it on the line. We either win with the kid because he's legit, or we get a shot at the big name guys next draft.
sure, but no one knows anything, it's just a bunch of people trying to put down markers so they can brag about how they predicted this or that five months from now.
If only we were going to get all the answers to our questions in 4 months...
If we're picking in the top 3, none of our QBs will have worked out
What the hell do I know, but if the experts are right and there’s no obvious can’t miss guy in this draft, then Moore can build from the lines out and work with what he has at QB this season and look for his guy next off-season. He only has to win 6 games to be “better” than DA. That’s a pretty low bar for “hey, things are improving!”
