Well Penix might drop to us. Do we take the old man who had a bad Championship game?

I think if we don’t he’ll turn into an MVP. Frick it, pull the trigger.

He threw with bad footwork all game...looked like Jarett Lee....has a strange sidearm delivery...

I don't think he's a NFL QB

Happy feet, throws off his back foot under the smallest amount of pressure, and his sidearm/weak arm strength are all maddening. After tonight, no thanks.

Has good (not great) footwork, dumps off before ever throwing a bad pass deep, and has a great release point with average arm strength. I'd take Carr 10/10 times over Penix, and I'm not a fan of Carr at all.

Lenox was always going to be there when the Saints pick. He is maybe the 5th quarterback off the board.

No! As much as I would love to draft the QB of the future right now……we have MUCH BIGGER needs. This roster needs to get younger and that means hitting on multiple picks. We don’t need someone that’s going to sit for a year or two.

Carr may not be great, but he is a good QB. If the pass pro can stay pretty good like the second half, be better in the run game, and a better playcaller……..I think you see a MUCH better offense next year.

The struggle with the run game really hurt playaction this year, I think with a different OC, we will see a different (better) scheme that helps the run game.

This is exactly why the Saints will draft him.

It’s what we do.

Heck - we’ll probably trade back up in to Rd 1 for him if we don’t use #14 on him.

Hell no. He specializes in the three yard pass and was obviously afraid of being hit by Wolverine defenders.

Old, Bad mechanics, statue in the pocket, significant injuries to all 4 limbs.

Sounds like someone the saints would auction the future off for.

Penix will not do well in the NFL. He might carry a clipboard but overall he is not worthy of a first round pick at all.

Hell, JJ McCarthy is a better NFL QB prospect.

Honestly, I would probably look into McCarthy. He has the requisite size and athletic ability you want. Michigan didn't ask him to do much in their offense. But when they did you could see some tools to work with. Plus, he probably has more experience in a "pro style" offense than some of the other guys.

I'm not saying to you take him over some of the higher rated prospects. But at 14 you might consider it. He could sit behind Carr for a year since you are stuck with Carr regardless. And with this team's roster (age) and lack of cap space, it's not like you are one OL, DE, TE away from truly being a championship contender. Even at his best, Carr has not necessarily shown he is an elite QB. You're going to have to move on from him eventually. Why not consider it at a time expectations are pretty low?
