Man, what could have been.
I still hope I don't have to ever cheer for Brady, but if he's a Saint...

I could live with SP back as HC. Brady is washed.

Awesome. SP with a washed-up superstar to load up our cap space. Sounds vaguely familiar

Sorry, but I'm just not buying the Payton returning to Saints rumor. It makes no sense to why he ever left in the first place. I guess it could happen, but it doesn't make sense to me.

Brees really frick the organization.

Admins, please delete this thread title poster and author of the shittiest fricking article ever written.
An asteroid could hit earth tomorrow. It could land on top of the Superdome. That's the shittiest fricking sports article ever. No substance with an if and a could thrown into it.

There are two scenarios in which I don’t watch the saints next year.
Allen remains coach.
Saints get Brady/
I will never ever cheer for Brady

I don't buy the Sean's wife hates NOLA narrative or that a competitive guy like Payton walked away because we had no QB or were in cap hell. I have come to take him at his word that he was tired and ready to retire. I don't think it is a huge stretch to believe that he might want to come back, since he obviously has a close relationship with the ownership and management.
Now, I am a realist and we know that there is a small chance he does come back. But, if he has the coaching itch and his options are Denver, Carolina, Houston, Indianapolis, Arizona or us, it is not incredibly far fetched that we would be his preference. The hardest thing to overcome would be Dennis Allen, as he is only the coach on Payton's recommendation.

that wasn't even his fricking word. he literally talked about other coaching opportunities soon enough at his presser. frick him, he quit on new orleans saints.

Imagine being Winston and losing your job to the same guy twice at different organizations…..

Maybe he was facing another year suspension for the Dolphins tampering situation.

It’s not like it just goes away. He’d still be subject to it potentially

Brees didn’t “frick this organization.”
He played several seasons well above his initial contract and never threatened to sit out or went elsewhere. Turned the Saints into one of the most winningest teams in the NFL.
Payton still never found a QB for the future.

sheet, I'd rather watch that shitshow than another year of rudderless DA saints.

On pace for 4,700 yards, 22 TD's, 6 INT's, on 66% completion rate. Led the NFL in passing TD's last season. Hell, we as a board all predicted Brady and the Bucs would struggle all offseason because of what they lost, specifically on the OL. But now he's washed because exactly what we all thought would happen, has happened?
I don't know how much my excitement would be limited given how much of a stop gap Brady would be, but acting like he's not a take is stupid.

I think the more fascinating part is the idea that Payton is entertaining the idea of coming back. Maybe he truly misses it here and see the terrible job DA is doing. Who knows.

What if plan all along was to just give Sean a year off and let DA run the show. CSP comes back and DA rolls back to DC. Loomis works some magic for one more year.

As much as I hate Brady, his passes aren't wounded ducks. I think it's play calling and a piss poor OL/run game mkreso.
