And I was absolutely blasted on here before last season when I said that there’s a reason Pete didn’t get many job offers when he was under Payton all those years. How many NFL coaches, outside of head coaches) stays in the same position for 16years?

Everyone with a pulse knows we have the worst play caller in the NFL.

But, Allen is stuck. We are in first place. If he makes a move and we don't win the division, his decision will be the perceived reason why we lost the division lead.

The move will only happen once we are no longer leading the division and lay an egg.

It's not only play calling. The offense that's installed is a problem.

Allen should be asked questions directly about this, and if Carmichael is ever allowed to answer questions, he should be asked.

Payton's offense would have four routes and two of them were some kind of option for the RB/WR

Difference is Drew knew where all 4 people were, knew what the option routes were, and could anticipate what decision those guys would make in a split second.

Carr/Jameis process these plays like common core math, so they either get sacked or throw up jump balls 30 yards downfield on 3rd and 4

Ayo, do you know we’re right outside the top ten in total offense?

Do you think RPOS/motions etc is the definition of offense?

I beleive the YARDS you get from offense is more relevant.

Btw the Eagles also use them similar to Saints and have a top offense.

There’s no doubt he’s a great offensive mind , maybe the best in the nfl currently. Jury is still out if he’s a good nfl coach.

And don’t feel bad, got downvoted to hell when I wanted Harbaugh and everyone applauded the Allen hire. Two years later, I see hire Harbaugh threads pop up often now. Some people are just born slower than others….

Ya'll have been screaming about screens all season. We try them last game, perfect timing, perfectly setup and it is very apparent our Oline doesn't know how to block for a screen.

This is only part of the problem. It’s not Pete’s offense, it’s Payton’s, but Pete has no feel for game rhythm and when to call plays in Payton’s offense. Also, when the offense struggles he can’t adjust. We’ve seen this time and time again. If the gameplan going in isn’t successful, the offense has no chance.

How many times has the offense been rolling, gotten 2 or 3 first downs in a row, but then had the drive stall because of a poorly executed screen or some gimmick play that puts them in 2nd and long? The answer is “way too often”.

The route concepts were innovative 15 years ago. Now, not only are they outdated, they’re being run poorly. How often do we have 2, or more, receivers in the same area? The answer is “way too often”.

The HB and TE screens, which were a staple of Payton’s offense, are non existent. When they have tried them they’ve been terribly executed. Pete doesn’t know how to coach them, or when to call them.

Basically, the Saints have a $100 dollar offense being run by a $10 mind.

Saints TD is not known for accepting honest opinions when it goes against its bias.
