You think all brees does is throw 10 yard passes and that what he does is easy? Wow

I don’t think he can be a successful starting qb in the NFL. I also can’t think of a single reason why he can’t be on the field for over 75% of offensive snaps.

blasphemous to say anything bad about Drew you will continue to be in denial

There's nothing wrong with saying something bad about Brees, it's when posters come on here and straight up lie about stuff people get defensive. I have no problem with giving Taysom a shot.

I think he would be in the 20-25 range of starting QB's, but he provides so much more to the team in his current role. He is a force on special teams, can catch, can run, and when he is at QB he has started to make teams honest with his ability to throw. All of that goes away if he is our QB1.

At what time does this soon to be 30 year old QB with 13 NFL snaps to his name begin to develop as the successor to drew Brees?

Conversely, Drew was better this season than the previous two teams that flirted with the SB. Of course errors are magnified in a one and done and people become irrational, emotional etc.

Because Brees just had (by one metric) the 3rd best szn of all NFL qbs and good teams don't let a top 5 qb walk in lieu of a coin flip option at qb?

This is the next step, I hope next season they leave him on the punt team but take him off-kickoffs and significantly increase his snaps on offense at fullback, H-back, and TE.

This will be his 3rd offseason with us. He's already developed and knows our offense now possibly as good as anyone since he knows it from so many different angles.

First, because Brees is the starter until he isn't.

Second, I think if Payton thought he could run the offense, Teddy wouldn't have started 5 games. Taysom was even in the system a year longer than Teddy.

That's about as solid of analysis as you can get.

Third, knowing an offense =/= running it efficiently. If that were the case then we would not have teams looking for starting QBs every year. I guess Mariotta didn't know Tennesee's offense? He was the starter there for how many years?

It's not smart thing to do when you have a playoff roster.

A playoff roster that chokes immediately in the playoffs? Taysom accounted for all of our momentum changing plays on offense. Brees turned the ball over twice at crucial points during the game. He and sean Payton are the leaders of the team and it is on them.

We have a better shot of winning that game with teddy or taysom starting. Not because they're better QBs, I'm not delusional, but because we would have had to stick to the run BECAUSE they arent as accurate as drew. We averaged over 5 yds a carry but gave up way too early on the run. Horse shite
