I’ll give the FO the benefit of the doubt on his value. I doubt they just took the first half assed offer that crossed their table.
I'd rather just keep him for the year and let him walk next over the two picks we got, plus we had to give a pick?

Well maybe that’s his value under the circumstances?
you can't be serious, right?

Why on Earth would we sell for less than other offers?
This is clearly an emotional situation on both sides. Can't judge with rationality

I'm going to bet good money he had already become problematic in the locker room if he had stopped listening to coaches and it was only going to get worse. This team is lined up to be special if it can stay relatively healthy, and DA probably said "it isn't worth it, get him out of here".

The only justification is that it got to the point of him not needing to be near the team anymore. If he quit on the coaches he's gotta go.

Did the saints not wanna give him a shot at safety?

How are Maye and Mathieu shite to mediocre?
I’ll give you Taysom because that’s an awful situation all around but by all accounts both Maye and Mathieu have played well in camp and the limited snaps we saw in preseason.

He must have dicked down not just Thomas' girl but Loomis and Allen's wives too for this abomination of a trade.

Howie Roseman and the Eagles are probably laughing their arse off.
So to recap:
1) Chauncey wanted to get paid
2) Saints aren't going to overspend on a nickel corner
3) Chauncey starts becoming a problem at camp. Not talking to coaches.
4) forces the Saints hand
5) Eagles capitalize and give us next to nothing in return
good news is the Saints secondary isn't short on talent.
I'm just fricking pissed at the return in the trade.
Bull-fricking-shite!

Not to mention the Hill situation was largely Sean's doing and we are trying to make the best of it now.
The 2nd contract extension never made sense after seeing what he was.

He's not a true safety. Eagles may very well be handing out a very bad contract. Still won't change that what we got in return absolutely sucks.

he was always going to be a difficult player to get a true value for.
Why? Eagles have a great roster. Why couldn't we get someone back that can actually play on the field instead of flyer 5th and 6th rd??

ETA- that’s not to say the trade was a win or anything, but it’s plausible he torpedoed his value for us and this was the best we could do.
then frick him. He can be inactive all season, both comps essentially amount to nothing
we just made an NFC opponent stronger this season for free

They aren’t. They’re both better safeties than CGJ. His loss will be felt in the slot, but Mathieu can still cover there unless he’s lost another step.
The secondary will be fine.

Dumb you know what wouldn’t take a team friendly deal on a Super Bowl ready squad. Have fun playing for a wild card spot you retard
frick this is shite

I feel like we would have gotten more than a 5th in compensation after he left in Free agency

Hopefully so
But that's another thing.
he's going to a team that is already good defense and SHOULD win its division.
if it were an AFC team, not as shitty to accept.

Wow if they wanted him gone that bad then just sit him on the bench all year and let him walk to sign a big deal and we get a 3rd in comp. But no instead we get bullshite 5th and 6ths. I just don’t understand this logic one bit.
